Tapology How are the Worldwide Rankings calculated? The rankings are calculated based on "voting" by registered Tapology members. Any Tapology member is free to create their own version of any Worldwide Ranking category. As users update their own individual rankings, Tapology continuously calculates and determines its consensus rankings based off of this information. This creates consensus MMA rankings that are more democratic and encompass a broader range of views. "sounds like popularity contest to me" If you would rather I re-structure the rankings based on my own, sole opinion, I will gladly do that. Thank you for your suggestion, as I would actually prefer to do it that way, as it would definitely remove any "popularity" concept from the system. I'll think it over and make a post about my decision in the near future. Possibly including the new rankings that I, alone, have determined best. Thanks again. |

Nah, I'll be fair and unbaised when I do it. The major pro of me doing it through is people can go back to bitching about me in general, and we no longer have to hear about how "popularity contest" Tapology is. The same guy who builds the fighters initially also being in charge of their caps makes a lot of sense to me, and since people bitch about Tapology and me anyways, shifting the bitch to me instead won't change much. I'm kinda excited now. We're really getting somewhere and at the same time cutting off an entire channel of bitching. Originally, I thought by using an unbiased 3rd party, it would ease the bitching. But since it hasn't, it really is easier if I just do it, so we'll probably do that. I'll keep you guys posted with announcements and possible suggestions if anything needs fine-tuned. Pretending that someone like Diego Nunes, or Jordan Mein is on the same page as someone like GSP or Fedor is absurd. Site-breaking, in my opinion. And it is not something I will be going back on. Legit MMA legends will have an advantage, since that is the whole point of the site. Legends vs. Legends. Not Legends vs. This Dude I Met At A Club Once And Now He is ManMMA Champion, lol. |

Your opinion on that has been noted. I disagreed with it. But when you start your own MMA sim site, you can use your opinion to run it however you want. I might even join up...But I doubt it.

If you upgrade a fighter good enough they will perform well despite being a low rank. For example: Cody Garbrandt.
