I SOOOO don't want to get involved, but I can't stress enough how the two situations are COMPLETELY different. In Sarah-Rousey, nothing illegal happened. The controversy is around a premature stoppage. The result of the call not being made is the fight continues. Rousey got her in an armbar pretty quick, no one doubts she would have done it again.
The Tate-Zingano fight was totally different. It was an illegal shot, which would mean point deduction, warning, DQ or No contest.
It's apples and oranges, so you guys should debate this debate on a different playing field than comparing the Rousey-Sarah D fight and the Zingano-Tate fight.
JUST SAYIN.
They are 2 completely different situations, however, they are the same when you take into account Cannon's argument that if there had been a different official that the outcome could've been different in both cases; which is in fact true. So I disagree that it's completely apples and oranges here, even though the situations/circumstances themselves are different.
Thing is that there's sides for and against on any issue, but in this case, the still you've provided as "evidence" is still in conclusive. If you look again, Miesha's fingertip is on the ground, yes... BUT, if you look closely at the still provided here, you can actually see Miesha's leg still as Cat's knee has not made contact with her head yet. I'd honestly like to see the next frame or two when Cat's knee actually makes contact with her head, cuz that would provide something that's actually conclusive and I wouldn't have much of an argument in this particular case, except for my feeling that fingers should be planted on the mat and not just grazing it with fingertips.
