Honestly, I'm not a big fan of the Open Weight category, just leaves the door open for a pretty unfair advantage if most put in an MW or an LW and 1 team puts in an HW and obliterates everyone, like say Anderson. But I'll take it if it's the only way to get the gals into the GP. I just think we can come up with a better way or just add the women. I still don't understand why it can't be just the 4 weight classes... seems silly to me that it has to be an odd number. I'm just willing to accept the Open Weight if it gets the women in, that's pretty much it. 5 is the tie breaker Yah, I kinda get that part, I just think that we could come up with something more clever for a tie breaker, that's all. But as I said, as long as the gals can compete in the GP, I'm fine with it.

There is a bigger difference between the best vs. the worst within a weight class than the best HW vs an average HW/LW. I like the element of strategy it adds. I was not on board at all at first, but once Underdogs mentioned that part (putting your best MW at OW, and your second best in for example), I kinda liked it. I dig having to use brains.

As I said, all I care about is getting the women into the GP. If that's the way it's gotta happen, then that's the way it's gotta happen. But I do agree with HammerFists, that we instituted weight classes to prevent the unfair fights that were happening and that's all that category will create.

Except that the MWs were no worse off than the HWs when we went open-weight. The LWs were the problem. If people don't want their LWs to get destroyed, don't put them into the openweight.
As I said, the better MWs on this site can beat the below average or average HWs. IT brings in a strategy. If you are afraid a fighter will get hurt (baseless, since injuries were not rampant when we were open weight) then don;t put them in the GP.

Great analysis, but I still don't agree with that part of it. You do and you like it, awsome. No need to try and convince me... I'll accept it if it comes to pass. As I said, I just want the women in the GP.

I don;t see any other way to get women in, to be honest. 4 fights is going to end up in way too many 2-2 draws, and there is no simple way to tie-break that.

I'm fine with the open class now that I think of how ridiculous and unpredictable that one fight can be, would be fun lol
