Machida is the man and will be great at MW. Munuz...donno what is next for him.
The Guillard-Pearson fight was horribly disapointing, but cannot be helped I guess.
And what the hell is the deal with Gustafsson vs. Noguiera??? How does THAT make any sense.

I'm thinking that they're wanting to keep Gustafsson in the title hunt after the good showing v.s Jones last fight... and who's to argue, Gusty's been really making a name for himself lately... a win over Minotoro would be another nice feather in his cap, if he can pull it off. And I think he can too, just based on what we've seen recently... Kind of the UFC's answer to Randy Orton; "Legend Killer". lol

But that's the problem. At this point, the UFC has set up a very dangerous fight. Everyone knows the fight people want to see is a Jones-Gustafsson rematch. No one even kind of thinks Noguiera has enough left to give Jones any sort of challenge. But if he somehow beats Gustafsson, if Gustafsson hurts himself in the fight (like Jimmo did on the Manchester card) and Gusty gets a TKO loss, that is all fucked up. This is CLEARLY just a gimme fight for Gustafsson, that he is supposed to win so he can fight Jones again. But the thing is, nothing ever happens like it's "supposed to" in MMA. This is a very dangerous fight with no pay off. All risk, no reward. If he beats Noguiera, so what - he was supposed to. If he loses, no rematch with Jones, and no huge rematch $$$ for the UFC. It's stupid.
Further examples of how this bit the UFC in the ass in the past: - Gonzaga beats Cro Cop - Boetsch beats Lombard - Antonio Silva beats Overeem - Kampmann dominates Shields (loses terrible decision)

Every fight's a risk... doesn't matter if it's a gimme or not and it's not just segregated to the UFC. Invicta's kinda dealing with that for their Bantamweight title on the next card. Sure, Both Murphy (nee: Taylor) and Nakamoto are undefeated, but their two best stallions in the division (D'Alelio & Young) are sitting on the sidelines looking in because of bad decisions in their last fights; ironically both to fucking Murphy. lol So, it happens everywhere.

That's not the same as giving someone a set-up fight. These are set-up fights that are specifically FOR a fighter to lose - basically being used to fill contractual obligations. In most organizations, if the underdog wins, they earn a title shot. In the UFC, they do not. They just go back to the next name on the list until they lose (Kampmann, Boetsch, etc). INvicta giving those ladies a title shot shows their wins meant something. In the UFC, it just means they fuck shit up.

Their wins do mean something in Invitca true... Not that it'll do much for Murphy. lol I'll be surprised if she lasts past the 2nd round with Nakamoto.

Gustafsson fight is dumb. Loved Machida's fight, he looked great and showed excellent sportsmanship, and yeah it sucked how the co-main event ended, but it happens. Glad it wasn't a pay per view.

No one is hating on Gustafsson here; we are saying making him fight Nogueria is a waste of HIS time, hype, and talent. We want to see him fight for the belt, not fight a wash up. We are Pro-Gustafssons.
