There's kind of a running thing with it where if they don't hang around for a specific amount of time the fighter is returned to me.

i feel a gift is a gift. you don't give something away expecting it to be returned. it's just not cool. you can fell however you want, but i do this to help entice people to stick around "because cool yo he gave me crosby!" if they bail early, it being returned to me isn't unfair. it would be unfair to me for helping try and keep the site exciting and attentive for new members to just disperse the talent when they only stick around for a week. they stay, they get to keep a great fighter, and if/when they quit a year from now, the regular dispersal and auctions follow. but if i gift a fighter and they are barely around for a few months and then quit out of the blue, it's moreso a placeholder on my fighter than it is that they actually used them. AND typically, they rarely upgrade said fighter i gifted. but i would be fine with having to pay production points equivalent to a fighter's received upgrades if they quit in short order but applied upgrades. THAT would be fair to the site, and not that i gifted a fighter, got him upgraded for free, then got him back. |
