With Machida stepping down from the 152 fight, does that take the heat off Jones for you?

For me, I think it's different when you are champion. You are supposed to take on all comers.


Now. I did also read that Jones said he would gladly take on Sonnen on Sep. 22. Just not on 8 days notice (3 his camp claims, once you factor in travel, weight cut, etc). And UFC, instead of rewarding Sonnen for stepping up and giving him the Sep. 22 fight, they offer it to someone else...another fighter who basically moved straight up to LHW.... That kinda hurts the UFC's image too, in my opinion.

It does become ever more complicated. I respect that people step up and agree to fights, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with expecting it. It's the UFC's job to run the events, not the fighters.

I think the carrying the cross part may be a SLIGHT overstatement, but it's never a bad idea to apologize.

Good for him for apologizing, bad for him for not learning how to spell or provide appropriate language in doing so. This has been a god damn PR disaster for Jones, and as a business man, you'd think someone else would have taken over his fucking twitter account and fixed it by making some solid tweets that would hopefully pull him out of the deep end, or at least allow him to float a bit. Even his apology is pathetic.
