This suggestion is not based on anything other than observations and assumptions. This site sort of has a split between casual members and hardcore members, with pretty much no one in between. What do you guys think about allowing teams to basically assign another member to be their upgrade-proxy. In other words, you could have another member (who was willing and trusted) do your ugprading, with your own points, for you. I know some people here just want to watch their teams do well, and may not want to deal with the intricacies involved in fine-tuning, and upgrading, and all that. So, if you allowed one of the hardcore people to do your upgrading, you could just watch your team, issue challenges, trash talk, etc, and brag about your team. I guess a little more in line with what happens on hockey sim sites. Pros: - Casual members have less to worry about and can spend more time chilling without falling behind - More upgrading might happen - I would also recommend a reward for proxy-upgrading (i.e. if a proxied fighter wins a belt or GP or something, the proxy as well as the fighters team get a point, type thing) Cons:- Dink proxies may try to take a teams glory away if they worked on a fighter who won a belt, etc. - (to be discussed) Does this take away from teams who are working on their own teams and coming up short? Again, this was based on assumptions, but like...is this something you would be interested in or use The West Coast Knockouts, xx - Former Bulldozers, xx - Diamond Warriors, The Quads, others?

I think this is very interesting but feedback is definitely needed from those who would actually be using the system

i would very much be opposed to this idea. I believe everyone has to do their upgrades. people shouldnt be rewarded for doing nothing.

i would very much be opposed to this idea. I believe everyone has to do their upgrades. people shouldnt be rewarded for doing nothing. That sort of goes against how things are operating right now though. We have a weekly salary where everyone earns 2 points regardless of whether they've been upgrading or not. The active players on the site keep their points floating below 30. The inactive are here and still predict at times and watch over their team and do the odd upgrading, but those salaries are getting a lot higher, without an improvement of competition. This also prevents fighters from becoming stagnant. Just looking at the points transactions thread, there's a couple of teams who are "frozen" with a collective 200 points. And those fighters were never really addressed and then auctioned. So guys sitting on the stagnant teams actually just basically sit in purgatory until potentially released to auction untouched, with months/years of points that could've been going into them and keeping all level of competition across the site fresh. That alone is what makes me interested in the proxy upgrading services. I would prefer if everyone just consistently applied upgrades to their fighters on a regular basis, but that just isn't what's happening, for a variety of reasons. Thoughts?

I don't know if you've realized this of not but i have been against alot of site suggestions lately. i have always been in favor of putting a point cap on teams in order to promote people using their points. my suggestions were always shot down. i still believe teams shouldnt be allowed to stockpile 50+ points... but since most of the league has done this my opinion was seen as being bad for the league. now you are realizing what i was trying to do... so now you can lay in the bed you made.

I don't see it that way. The suggestion that we cap team's points is to say that someone that is working and living paycheck to paycheck because they buy things is good, and people who save and put their money away is bad. That's why I never supported that part of it. But now we're learning that people want to be on the site, but either don't have the time or simply don't know how to upgrade so they hesitate and just follow their fighters instead of doing the upgrades. But they still want to be on the site and participate. The points system shouldn't be seen as a reward form for being on the site. They should be looked at as the fairest way everyone can get the same amount of points, but what they do with those points is what is important. I should also mention that I have not had anyone ask me to upgrade their fighters for them. But if the site wanted to attract more people, and get familiarity with upgrading, and wanted a proxy to do so to ease in, I don't see why that would be a problem. It's the same as when people say "if you PM me, I'll tell you how I upgrade".

I fully understand xx - Team GAP's issue. GAP totally gets the strategy and game part of this site and what it is all about, and I love and respect that about him. In an ideal world, this site would be about 12 hardcore members, and we could do all the things GAP wants (again, nothing he is arguing for in any way contradicts my ideal hopes and goals for this site). Spending points, upgrading constantly, tweaking fighters based on recent performances, etc. This is what we all would probably want, and what is the ideal. I fully understand, support, and want that as well. But it is not the reality we live in. The reality is we have about 4 hardcore members, 4 casual members, and 4 semi-casual members. The learning curve when you first join this site is HUGE. I don't want that to be a barrier for getting fresh personalities here. Furthermore, when people quit, most of the time their reasons are "I don't have time to give my team the work they deserve". What this suggestion is hoping to do is make it less impossible for new people to sign up, get terrified, then immediately bail. As has happened at least 6 times. And also to make it a place where people CAN just be casuals if they want, without having their team go 0-23 on a season, because they have a team of project fighters and they do not have 30 hours a week to learn how to upgrade. We've been at it for 7 years. When you walk into it with a blank slate, it's intimidating as fuck. I am still curious as to whether members would use the proxy if we brought it in, but I don't think I will implement it with GAP's objection. But, xx - Team GAP, I am definitely all-ears for alternatives to helping new and casual members feel a part of the site and make it a welcome place for them to stick around. I understand wanting people to earn accomplishments - truly and fully I do, and I agree with you. But are those worth anything if they are built around punitive rules, or, better yet, are they worth anything if the league consists only of those 4 hardcore members?

i will state my opinion and stop talking as i don't want to argue... just want my opinion heard.
1) i think people who want to be active and want to upgrade and take part in conversations should be rewarded in some way. 1.1) if you don't want to or can't be active then you should not be rewarded. 1.2) you want to be rewarded be active. simple as that.
2) allowing people to save up to 50 is too much.. however i am not condeming people who want to save so 50pts is ok. just putting a cap on how much you can save because when people have too many points it can be a bad thing for the site. if i saved up 200000000 points you dont think it would be unbalancing? cmon.
3) this game is about how YOU upgrade your fighters... not how someone else can upgrade your fighters. i have put alot of hard work into upgrading my team of fighters and i don't want anyone to upgrade my fighters for me. i also don't think we should allow others to upgrade for other people.. i starts a bad trend.
4) for seasons and seasons now i have felt that the number 1 team in season should be forced to drop a fighter (preferrably at random) to the lowest ranked team. this would help the lowest ranked team get better for the next season. it would promote trading and it would make sure top teams don't always stay on top.
5) i am a believer in that expansion teams (rookie teams) should not be super powerful to start unlike las vegas knights for example. if a starting team is lower in ranking for a season or two it is to be expected they need to build themselves up. if a starting team is on the bottom for several seasons and they are active in upgrading then the system is faulty.
6) I think with members donating points and fighters to new people.. it helps new people quite alot .. they should not be 0-23.. i dont think the site should actively reward casual members. i feel if you want to do well you will upgrade your fighters.. we can't pander to casual members or hardcore members will become casual.
7) i feel that i am boring everyone now so i have said my peace and i will now stop talking

7) i feel that i am boring everyone now so i have said my peace and i will now stop talking You're not boring anyone - I enjoy hearing your input. Based on this, and our voice conversation, I assume you feel no differently if instead of a full proxy, teams who donated fighters to new teams could upgrade just that fighter? Take some of the burden off of new teams? I guess that still doesn't solve the problem I am trying to solve, but it was an idea. For others, since I outlined this already with GAP privately, at its core, the thing I am trying to work around is giving casual teams the same experience one would have on a hockey sim site. Basically one where you can manage and operate a team, but you don't have to do the gritty mechanics of things, just sit back and enjoy the ride type thing.

My problem is I want to be active but the older I get the less free time I have.
I now work from 7:30-5:30 and my hours will be 6:45-7:00 once I’m fully settled in. On top of that I still try to write articles and I’ve been going to be cousin’s new house a lot to help them renovate.
Punishing those of us for not having enough hours in the day isn’t fair.

I think teams should be at 50 points or under to start each season . Would make active and inactive members upgrade religiously . So ,if you're at 80 points at the end of a season .find a way to get to 50 or lose your points .
