MMA veteran Jason Miller sentenced to 1-year in prison
Jason Miller has been in custody in Orange County, CA since an arrest after ManMMA 459.
According to Patch.com Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller, 38, pleaded guilty to a felony count of vandalism, possession of narcotics (including but not limit to: molly, PCP, & weed) and a misdemeanor count of violating a protective ‘stay-away’ order at an Orange County, CA courtroom two weeks ago. As a result the former UFC and Strikeforce fighter received a one-year jail sentence with the possibility of parole after 3 weeks.
According to police reports, earlier in July Miller was arrested again after being found in possession of a bulletproof vest, knives, a machete, an axe, a samurai sword, and replica assault weapons. The reports state he was also found in possession of quad growth hormone and other performance enhancing drugs, including vegan protein powder.
Miller was arrested on charges of domestic violence a year after the ‘MMA Hour incident’. Miller has had public run-ins with law enforcement each year since then, often involving allegations of domestic violence and battery. It is uncertain whether 'Mayhem' Miller has ties to the Aisling Daly match fixing scandal, though his prints were all over the Slava Voynov arrest.
This is the third member of the Quads' organization that has run into legal issues this past week. It was announced that Aisling Daly is suspended indefinitely and won't be back any time soon. The details of the Voynov arrest have not been announced as of yet, though we anticipate another deportation is likely.
With the announcement of Miller's sentencing, the Quads' press conference has been pushed back a day. We will be sure to bring you the latest, when we have it.
