just an idea:
Announce that your fighter is attending someone else's camp. your fighter then misses his next 2 fights (or however many) but the bonus for attending some else's camp is that you get a point but the other person gets to pick what they taught your fighter.
so for example I announce that I am sending Shane Carwin to phoenix's camp. Shane Carwin misses 2 fights (or whatever is determined to be a fair number) and then phoenix posts that the stat he worked on was takedown defence. So Shane Carwin would get a +1 to takedown defence.
You could also put a limit on it and say you can only send up to 2 fighters for every one season.
This was just an idea that I thought up today.. let me know what you think.. this could be a work in progress if you guys like the idea..

This idea was thought up based on the fact that many times fighters go to other camps to learn things from different fighters or to train with different people... the other thing that could be added is that every team picks a stat and everytime someone visits your camp that is the stat point they get. so you might come to my camp to learn takedowns... or go to sandmen for punching...
My idea isn't ironed out just a thought... thought i'd see what you guys think of the idea

I like this suggestion. We'll listen to what others have to say (in terms of any fine tuning and stuff) and possibly get this into effect for next season. Hopefully we could get people to use it to help all those neglected fighters.

It's kind of neat, but isn't the point of having your own Fight Team to be your own Fight Camp? Would you not just be training your own fighters and thus adding your own points to them to improve them? I like the idea, but I think it should stay personalized. You can put a fighter out, I'd say 3 cards, which is technically like six weeks, and gain one point for that person that you can apply anywhere. But, three points per season? You might as well just comment everywhere for three days and you'd get those points in that short amount of time.

If the problem is "other people's camps" specifically, Hammerfists, we can even make up some fake camps or something (though as GAP said, in real life, fighters train with different camps and teams all the time).
I don't like the "apply anywhere", and I would like something like "only 1 person can train at a camp at a time". So if Silva is training at Camp Cannon, no one else can train at Camp Cannon until he is done. Or something to that effect. It's not a free point, its a strategically placed focus on a specific area.

But i think there is lots of area for discussion here and welcome lots more discussion on this.

Why do you have to miss a fight? You can prepare for a fight with other camps.
It would be nice to have another way to get points

Because it's a trade-off system. We can't be tossing out free points all over the place.

#1 really like this idea. #2 I think each camp should choose something it trains in. So for example, Hammerfists could be the takedown king- you go to his camp you're learning something related to takedowns.

I like it, but I ALSO think that the camp should be the ones that select what they learn. So we divide up all of the possible stats in categories (some stats overlap in categories) and they go to that camp hoping to learn something from that camp's specific category. That camp then alerts the team (likely in a thread) on what that camp has taught that fighter, allowing said camp to pick one of three stats to apply to that fighter.
This does two things: 1. It allows teams to grow a fighter based on a specific method, 2. It allows that fight team to start to become more involved with fighters they don't know, and could potentially lead to further trades and such, it's interesting.

Same, after thinking it over I really like it, it's just a matter of ironing out the details. But I think it's more interactive if there's an element of surprise as to what your fighter learned how to do.

In fact, maybe these camps happen during the draft, each team can send up to three fighters to a camp for an improvement between seasons while the draft is happening, then they hit the new season with a new development on their fighter?

I like this.. good add -on idea.. gives a few of your fighters something to do in the off-season to improve and get ready for next season.. p.s. I pick ground and pound... come to my camp to learn how..
