Nothing, but nothing beats old school Loony Tunes though...

Depends on the audience. Cause like, I answered this with a balance between educational value for my child and what I find annoying. I let her watch good stuff, like SImpsons and Beavis and Butthead, which she likes just fine, but the educational value is almost nothing, so I try to keep her moreso in good kids shows. Looney Tunes is better than most kids shows, but I don't really want my child learning the way to deal with a stalker is to blow them up with Acme dynamite.

But the anvil dropping on one's head is very effective... c'mon now... lol Now, if you're looking for educational, and current, but fun... I'd go with the Doodlebops; hands down.

Also Caillou makes me want to shoot myself in the face. You can tell this was a French show. All he does is whine and bitch.

I'm horrible for watching cartoons. I've got two boys, 7 and 4. I even catch myself watching when they've left the room 10 minutes earlier. They're getting at an age where they like to watch "bigger people shows". Mostly family movies or comedies.

I used to watch several after mine left the room or gave up too. I kind of liked The Cat in the Hat (which I totally expected to hate when I first saw it advertised). My daughter's pretty easy going with shows, so if i have to sit and watch with her, I can usually find something we will both like, which is cool. I've shown her all the stuff I used to watch as a kid, from The Real Ghostbusters, to classic Ninja Turtles, to even some Beavis and Butthead when she was younger. We were watching Daria about a week ago, and she really likes Duck Tales and Animaniacs. I definitely balance these out with good programming, of course, and once she got old enough to start understanding stuff, I stopped with the Beavis & Butthead obviously, haha.

I like Caillou. Not the name, though. That is pretentious for a child. How can you possibly LIKE Caillou? he's a whiny little bitch whose parent's need to tell him to stop whining and not put up with the mini fits the little shit throws every time he doens't like something. I mean my kid throws these fits too- but I don't televise them as good examples of behaviour.

also, I'm happy at the amount of discussion this generated, thus proving that at least some children's programming is evil. If you doubt it, watch some LalaLoopsy. These creepy dolls remind me of nothing so much as 'baby button eyes' from the Simpsons. They all talk in strange falsetto voices and have names like Pillow (no strangely, she's not a porn star). I can't tell if there's a point to the episodes because the music is enough to drive anyone mad.

That rarely happens in kids/family programming. See Full House for more on that.
