Nah, most probably didn't, but it definitely made him more famous. UFC was basically nothing at the time.

i've been watching mma since ufc 3... i knew how dangerous of a fighter he really was... and thus felt like wwe was dumbing him down.. made me sad a little.. i liked shamrock before he came to wwe.. and after wee i hated him... wwe ruined him.. at least dan severn left before wwe could ruin him.

Pretty much any MMA fighter is a shit ton more dangerous than WWF guys. PRetty much any would have been wasted, becuase of wrestling politics. A shame, really.
