[The Sandmen]

Here are the posts-for-points numbers for Season 11.

The Sandmen - every 100 posts = 1 point
@kadri43 - every 100 posts = 1 point
xx - Former Phoenix Fight Club - every 100 posts = 1 point
xx - Camp Cannon - every 100 posts = 1 point
xx - Team GAP - every 50 posts = 1 point
The Rocketmen - every 50 posts = 1 point
Ferocity - every 50 posts = 1 point
xx - Former Rebel Storm - every 25 posts = 1 point
xx - The Underdog Regime - every 25 posts = 1 point
Lord Byron's Conquistadors - every 25 posts = 1 point
The West Coast Knockouts - every 25 posts = 1 point

(edited on Feb. 18 after Bulldozers, Cannon, and Phoenix all agreed to stick to 100 for book-keeping simplicity)

For those who have not been following the debate in the suggestion box, here's how we came up with those numbers.

We took everyone's posts-per-day ratio from the time they signed up to the site and adjusted their point-earnings ratio accordingly. Post-ratio looks like this:

We have re-assigned everyone's points-for-posts numbers as follows:

25 posts per point = 2.99 or lower posts per day avg.
50 posts per point = 3.0 to 9.99 posts per day avg.
75 posts per point = 10.00 and higher posts per day avg.
100 posts per point for Sandman.

We'll go with this for this season, and review it next season. We're never going to be able to make everyone happy, so those unhappy few, take the season and try to think of something that works best for everyone next season. If this goes well, and people catch up to a decent point, we can look at 50s across the board again or something. We'll see how it goes. But looking at the make-up of teams, etc I think we do need this tweak.

This benefits everyone. The lowest get more incentive to catch up, (since they only have to post 25 times to get a point), the highest still get their advantage from posting (since they still earn more points than the others) and the average people are unchanged.

If you plan on complaining about it for the rest of the season, I will gladly accept your resignation below.

Some math for the people who felt this was an unfair disadvantage to higher-posters.

At the above rate, the system would play out as follows:

The Sandmen - 18.20 posts per day avg - point every 5.49 days
Canadian Bulldozers - 14.34 posts per day avg - point every 5.23 days
Phoenix Fight Club - 13.75 posts per day avg - point every 5.45 days
Team GAP - 8.68 posts per day avg - point every 5.76 days
The RocketMen - 8.51 posts per day avg - point every 5.88 days
Camp Cannon - 4.71 posts per day avg - point every 10.61 days
Ferocity - 3.03 posts per day avg - point every 16.5 days
Rebel Storm - 2.37 posts per day avg - point every 10.5 days
The Ultimate Underdogs - 1.32 posts per day avg - point every 18.93 days
Lord Byron's Conquistadors - 0.87 posts per day avg - point every 28.7 days
The West Coast Knockouts - 0.64 posts per day avg - point every 39.1 days

I'm fine with it. There's enough breathing room for the lower posters that if they posted more to get more points quicker, they would still be under that ratio.

I think it's an impossible situation and that everybody (the lows and the highs) get something out of this.

Even though this is a difference split, I still don't agree with this at all. It's extremely lame that one freakin' troll can target another member of this site with something like this, admit it, but then the league still penalizes the troll's target, and the troll himself receives no penalty for creating this situation in the first place. What kind of message does that send to the league The Sandmen? And you can say I'm the one making it about me, but Cannon already did that, and to me, all this says is that that trolling is condoned and if it's against xx - Former Phoenix Fight Club, you'll get rewarded for it. :-/ That's pretty sad.

Cuz I get that I'm not everyone's favorite person on this site, but I am a member of this site... and I should receive all the same rights and protections of any other member, but by allowing this to happen, it's pretty clear that I don't.

Also, xx - Former Phoenix Fight Club and everyone else who has a problem with this - this is for this season. If you want to spend the season coming up with a better system for next season, please do that. We had to move on this one because the season was moving forward. So, if you want it to change, start working on ideas for next season in case we are still unable to go back to 50s across the board.

Basically what I'm saying is that I'm willing to accept this for this season, but I'm proposing that Cannon be put up to 75 posts as well, not only to rectify the situation I mentioned above, but also so that he'll understand firsthand what it's like to be at a higher post level and how difficult it actually is.

I'm not liking it. The 75 points makes my job a lot harder. I'll be happy with me at 100 and Kruze at 50.

If Kruze wants to volunteer to go up to 100, I would not stop you guys from doing 100 each. But mathematically, 75, 50, and 25 were the most fair.

Oh, I DO think so Tim... Because by doing this, you're effectively changing the rules to punish me, but the one that created this situation in the first place, and admitted that I was the sole target of it all, gets off scott-free.

You keep thinking of yourself as the problem, and these changes as a solution to you, the problem. Don't be so hard on yourself, kiddo. The problem is evening the post-per-point numbers SLIGHTLY. If you look at it that way, and stop looking at yourself as the problem we are trying to solve, you will see the "situation" is not you, the situation is post disparity.

I'll only volunteer to go back to 100 if Cannon's put up there too and the points I've already earned at 50 posts remain. That's about the only way you'll get me to volunteer.

Cannon already volunteered to go to 100. Also, you are not hurting me, or Cannon with your lack of volunteering. It was Bulldozers who asked for the tweak.
