Murphy's too good for here own good, and Coenen should have been good already; same with Toughill, who've both been mid-tier fighters forever now. I'd imagine that we won't see a different champion than Carano, Cyborg, Kaufman or Rousey for a long while yet, especially if Carano gets a tournament without Rousey in it, which is bound to happen sooner rather than later. I think you're overestimating where the women are actually at.

And I think you are underestimating how close the upper-tier fighters are to cracking that ceiling.

That being said, the stagnant fighters you were talking about are mid-tier fighters at best, not soon-to-be-champions by any stretch.
