I used to like oatmeal. Had a bowl. Liked it. Had a second the next day. Didn't like it anymore. Tastes like some sort of warm animal food to me. And a little bit like dry shoe.

before a hockey game is a really smart time to have oatmeal. complex carbohydrates eaten an hour before physical activity will totally improve your performance.

when I played hockey I made sure I didn't eat for at least 2 hours before the game. There's nothing more discomforting than trying to avoid a hit because you need to shit.
