I should be the GM of the Leafs. I have so many ideas of what they could do. Trade Phaneuf and a 3rd to St.Louis for Pietrengelo (St.Louis has shown interest in Phaneuf), trade Gardiner and Reimer to Winnipeg for byfuglien (Jets are moving him for cheap so it won't be to hard to get him), trade 4 1st round picks to whichever team has the 1st overall pick in 2015 so that we can pick up McDavid (most teams think that the Leafs are shit so they would assume that those 4 picks would turn out to be amazing), and sign Stamkos in 2016 (he has shown interest in Toronto and now that Martin St.Louis isn't with Tampa he has no reason to stay). If the Leafs could do that their lines would look like this: McDavid-Stamkos-Kessel JVR-Kadri-Lupul Raymond-Bozak-Bolland Kulemin-Mcclement-Clarkson Pietrengelo-Byfuglien Gleason-Gunnarsson Rielly-Franson Bernier is still a good goalie so they won't have to worry about goal tending unless they want a better backup than Macintyre. Yes it is. Phaneuf is garbage but the Blues have shown tons of interest in him and have tried offering some big players for him so we could pick up Pietrengelo. The Leafs have been doing bad for the past 15 years so their picks would be good so the team with the 1st pick in 2015 might do the trade. Stamkos has already stated that he likes Toronto and now that St.Louis (the only reason why he was staying with Tampa) isn't even on Tampa anymore he has no reason to stay. As for Byfuglien the Jets have already stated that they are looking to move him for cheap. They need a starter which they get in Reimer and they get a D-Man to replace Byfuglien in Gardiner.

ROFL first of all, there's no way in hell they'll get McDavid: Strike 1. Bolland & Kulemin will be long gone, especially if you're trying to play Kulemin on the 4th line; you're an idiot if you did that... he'd ask for a trade so fast your head would spin See Grabovski[/b]... in fact, Franson, Gunnarsson and Gleason would be long gone too: Strike 2. There's no way in hell you're going to play a $5M player in Clarkson on the 4th line. See Horcoff: Strike 3. You're Out, and you'd completely blow as the GM of the Leafs. e5 But then again they'd probably hire you cuz they're used to losing anyways. lol And don't even come at me about the Oilers bud. lol I know they've missed the playoffs for 8 years straight, but atleast they've been to the dance recently. All they need to do is rope 1 or 2 good FA defensemen, plus (hopefully) Brian Boyle, in the off season... that should at the very least stop the bleeding and get them into the playoffs, but the only plausible senario for them that I mentioned there is that they could realistically land Boyle since his contract's up at the end of this season and the Rangers haven't even been talking to his agent yet. Otherwise, they just need to gel more and possibly trade Nail or Perron for another power forward/2 way forward type. |
