You don't post damage, so how are we to know what damage was done? You know because I just told you.

I like the damage being posted. I don't post damage because of this delightfully complicated reason: Every fighter has a different MAX on their health bar. Meaning every fighter has, let's say, health between 1000 and 7000 health. Then every fighter has an additional KO Resistance/submission defence modifier, meaning on TOP of that, every fighter might have an additional 0-7000 health (depending on how the damage is coming at them - subs or strikes). SO, for some fighters, a damage posting of 2000 is a TON of damage, and others, it's barely a dent. After simming about 20 cards, I realized pretty quickly the damage numbers give VERY misleading numbers about how the fight actually plays out. Some of our closest fights have had damage scores of like, 7000-1500 because of the variables above. It gives people the idea that damage is a bigger deal than it is, when in reality, the proximity to being at 0 health is the bigger deal. So, again, in some fights, the damage score can be 1000-1000, but one guy could have a ton of health left, and be no where near being finished, whereas the other could be a stubbed toe away from being KOed. Since there is no way for me to show the health bar information or numbers (without screen-shotting & uploading the images from every fight - not happening), I won't post the damage unless it is even, relevant, or noteworthy. Damage does, however, give a good indicator of the effectiveness of a single fighters offensive output during a fight, (certainly more than other stats do), so I still mention it from time to time.

You don't post damage, so how are we to know what damage was done? You know because I just told you. Telling us and showing us are two different things. I mean, you COULD say anything and we'd have to just take your word for it whether it was accurate or not. That's not meant to start anything, it's just the truth.

Why don't you just put a percentage of health that the fighters have less or a percentage of damage that they took.

That's not meant to start anything, it's just the truth. The same is true of every single piece of information on this site, from results, to stats, to your fighters names, to whether I put your upgrades in or not. And not just here, on all sim sites. If you don't trust the simmer completely, there is no point in being here at all.

Why don't you just put a percentage of health that the fighters have less or a percentage of damage that they took. Let's see if I can explain the reason we can't do that in a way that makes sense. Because everyone's max health is not displayed as 100% in the beginning. So like, if you just turned on the simulator, tossed on a fight, but did not start it, it would appear that the fighters have already been fighting, since they don't start with 100% health on the displayed bar. So basically, what I would have to do every fight is set up the fight, record the approximate starting percentage of each fighter, sim the fight, re-check the finishing percentage against each fighter, then use those two values to re-calculate the ACTUAL percentage of damage a fighter received. Needless to say, I won't be doing that given I sim about 16-18 fights per sim.

If you don't trust the simmer completely, there is no point in being here at all. I completely agree. As I said, it wasn't meant to start anything and I very well maybe speaking a little from my disgruntled side too just because I've put similar upgrades or, in some cases more upgrades, into some of my fighters than others have and I don't see the results others are seeing with there's and it gets extremely frustrating. It's not a knock on you or anything cuz you do a bang up job generally... it's just that some of the secrecy with a few things on the site does pull things into question sometimes. It's not an indictment of you, it's just as we move forward, we all get a little better understanding of how the simulator works and seeing the damage might help more than you realize in terms of our upgrades.

It's nice to see a discussion over a disagreement rather than an all out flame war.
But I will add...
if people have a problem with what is determined to be KO, Sub or Fight of the Night, then just get rid of them. They are arbitrary awards handed out for the purpose of entertainment and has no actual bearing on any upgrades whatsoever.
So instead of just having a problem with something because of a difference of opinion, we can either abolish the awards, which those who have fighters that win say "yay" and those who don't get it generally don't care anyway...
OR
we could just accept the fact that it doesn't matter.

if people have a problem with what is determined to be KO, Sub or Fight of the Night, then just get rid of them. I enjoy them, so no amount of bitching will make them go away. I also keep track of them. So sure, they are meaningless, but they make the site fun for me, so I will continue to award them and post them. The same can be true with the damage. I'm not going to change how I do that either, because it makes the fights less fun. And the site is about fun, and we'll be continuing to go forward in the direction of fun here, rather than backwards into the abyss of bitching about everything

and seeing the damage might help more than you realize in terms of our upgrades. I have simmed over 4000 fights. It won't. In fact, half the time it will make things more confusing, or lead you to believe you should be upgrading things that are non-problematic (it only partially differentiates where damage is coming from, or what damage did what). For example, submissions attempts do damage. Punches do damage. You cannot see in the post-fight damage stats what did what, but I usually include relevant distinctions in the write-ups to help with areas that are problematic. That's why I post in the write-up information that will be helpful for future upgrades. That's the entire point of the write-ups in the fights. A helpful guide based on all the info of the fight that cannot be posted. Like where fighters were effective, when they were, how they were able to come back, etc. That's why I focus on those in the write ups. As for the write-ups themselves, they take time, so I am hoping people are actually listening to them and using them for their upgrades, otherwise it's a waste, haha.
