let's see Sarah vs murphy.. I'm excited to see this fight. It'll have to wait until 240 if Sarah wins this tourney or Murphy loses the belt to Coenen or Rousey. I personally think it'll be more exciting to see it at Zenith for the belt.  |

We aren't doing a fight for the belt. 1) There's a reason we have contendership. If Sarah leap frogs ahead of the 2 current contenders to fight the champion, regardless of whether it's for the title or not, it's not fair to those who have earned their shots already. 2) As it is in any fight, there's risk of injury to both fighters. But, let's say, for example, that Sarah comes in and completely dominates the fight, just like she did in the last fight... Only this time, instead of Murphy getting a lucky shot from her back, Sarah instead breaks her jaw or orbital bone or something via GnP or elbows. What do you do about that? What do you do about the contenders waiting for their shot? We have a schedule. If that senario happens, then either a) it fucks up the entire schedule and creates a big headache for Sandman or b) Murphy is stripped of the title and the next women's title fight would be between Coenen & Rousey for the vacated title then D'Alelio or Tate gets their shot against one of those two; neither of those options appeal to me all that much. If Murphy's still champion I'll want it to be for the title when D'Alelio beats her; none of this exhibition shit so you get a "Get Out of Jail Free" card. Fuck that. lol If I win, I'll believe my fighter should be the champion and you'll be pissed of because your beast got her ass kicked or, worse, gets injured. I'd rather wait to get the title shot and take it from you then than have a fight for nothing against the current champion that I believe D'Alelio can beat. 3) What's the point of having a fight at 331 if Sarah wins this tournament? We'll see Murphy/D'Alelio again at 240 anyways. Fighting at 331 while Murphy's still champion is just stupid and redundant. |
