yes and no... mostly that is correct but still there are a couple guys that are awesome every day and they need someone who is built really well to beat them... ahem anderson silva.. Yes. And at the same time, Anderson came in strong and then was upgraded as well to boot. That's probably the one big advantage we "long-termers" have is the whole long-term development. So, whereas someone like JDS was amazing, then got neglected and passed around several times, Anderson has had consistent TLC and maintenence to keep up where he should be. Carano too. Hansen was pretty good, but then got heavily upgraded to be superb and is now in maintenance mode as well. Whereas, if he was on Camp Cannon, he would be losing to...well....everyone. Maintenance matters as much as upgrading, since everyone else here is upgrading as well. That's why I love this game. It's an unending chess match. Best example of that is the league has slowly shifted to a wrestling-dominated league. So the guys who are capped without takedown defence need a few minus/re-assigns to get back in the game. It's great. I see your point and how it would be like a chess game for you, but that's extremely easy for one to say when they have those fighters that perpetually win, as yours have... it's a completely different story for teams that have fighters that haven't. For the other side, it's a never-ending game of trying to catch up that rarely ever happens.

For the other side, it's a never-ending game of trying to catch up that rarely ever happens. I have fighters that perpetually win because I work on them so they get to that point. As long as I have interest in someone, they will get the work, and they will get to that point. If I lose interest, rather than neglect them and have them turn into shit, I drop them ( as shown here). I never have had a whole team that "perpetually wins", I just have ADHD and drop people that either lose or bore me. Or, in many of those cases (and lately with Rin and Zoila), I ship them to teams that could use the boost. Again, of people I have given TLC and upgrades to. With 3 exceptions (Silva (no surprise tho), Carano, Hansen), my fighters don't just walk into the league superstars. Aoki has been average ever since he came into the league. I worked on him and now he is "perpetually" winning. Askren sucked. I worked on him for a long time and he is still in progress. Tate is maxed out, and is not a contender. Now we come back to this "catch-up" you are talking about, and I'll bring it around to the other thread, where you are saying the way I upgrade and the way you upgrade are not that different. Somewhere, they are. You tell me your opinion on upgrading is different, and I don't know everything about everything and I am arrogant. Fine, you are entitled to that opinion...but you have more capped fighters than me, and you are upset because your fighters have to "catch up" to mine? I think you should be upset that MY fighters have to catch up to yours in terms of upgrades, yet they are still able to beat your guys half the time. And that comes down 100% to HOW you upgrade. Once you pop in about 5-10 upgrade points, that overrides pretty much everything from their default build. At that point, they are YOUR fighter, win, lose, or draw.

Once you pop in about 5-10 upgrade points, that overrides pretty much everything from their default build. At that point, they are YOUR fighter, win, lose, or draw. Again, taking my words out of context, AS USUAL... I know you're pissed off cuz I said you come across like an arrogant asshole... Sorry, but you do... And this little rant was no different, yet again. My original statement was NOT an attack on you at all bro... all I said was it was a different story for those of us that don't have perpetual winners as you do because you were grouping all of us "long-termers" in together as having the same advantage you do, which isn't entirely accurate. Not everyone, including most of the other "long-termers", don't have the luxury of being able to coast like you do. You say that your fighters don't walk into the league as superstars, which is fundamentally accurate (other than Anderson & Carano, who did), but with fighters you'd already had, you're able to give this "TLC" to all these other fighters and wait like 50 cards to do a shit load of upgrades, cuz 1) you don't give a shit cuz you don't have to... you're the admin and the simmer, so if your fighters loses once in a while, it's not a big deal to you in the grander picture... and 2) you don't need to worry about FiD, cuz none of The Sandman's will ever end up on that list, not for any amount of significant time anyways, because you like all of your fighters and that just would never happen; and no I don't count your Soviet experiment either. So when I'm talking "catch up", what I meaning is that you're nearly always sitting at a 10-15 point balance on your upgrade points because you CAN... and that's why it's like a chess game for you, cuz you can sit there and upgrade your fighters whenever you want, however you want, carte blanche, without a care in the world because you've ALWAYS got points... Meanwhile, most of us are always scrambling to put our points into our fighters, even to the point of borrowing points off of you to do it, just so that we can keep the fighters we want or like cuz they're on FiD or they're not quite where we want them to be... and I'm not the only one that's done that. So when you do sit there being smug and say "oh, I just upgrade right", you really and honestly do come across as arrogant because you can sit there and drop 7-8... 10 points on your fighters at the drop of a hat... pretty much everyone else in the league isn't able to do that. So, do I think it's entirely that you're "upgrading right"? No. Is there some element of that? Absolutely... but you're not in the position to have to nickel and dime your fighters like most of the rest of us are either. You can make a fighter legit with 1 or 2 sets of upgrades... most of the rest of us have to do it in like 4-6 or usually more. That's what I mean by "catch up".

Not everyone, including most of the other "long-termers", don't have the luxury of being able to coast like you do. I don't coast, I upgrade. If people drag me down, I upgrade them or, if I don't care about them, I drop/swap them for people I want. My "coastables" are people I have already upgraded. And I coast on them because they are good and don't need to be champions. I let others be champion. I.E. Cung Le COULD be upgraded to beat Wanderlei, based on his fight with him. But that doesn't interest me, so I leave him alone for now. I might even trade him, as he kinda bores me. But I don't hold onto dead weight. I either upgrade them to be good enough to coast (Rawlings) or drop them because they bore me (Robb). The "luxury" of coasting is not one I was given, it is one I have earned by cutting my losses or upgrading. 1) you don't give a shit cuz you don't have to... you're the admin and the simmer, Unsure what that has to do with anything. My fighters are just as prone to FiD and cuts as anyone elses (moreso, actually, bececause if you pay attention, I put my fighters on there after fewer losses than the rest of the league). and 2) you don't need to worry about FiD, cuz none of The Sandman's will ever end up on that list, not for any amount of significant time anyways, because you like all of your fighters and that just would never happen; and no I don't count your Soviet experiment either. I covered this above. I am harder on my team than anyone elses. But on top of that, for my own interest, if my fighters start to suck, I upgrade them. If they suck and I don;t like them (Robb), I drop them. These are options available to everyone. You decide to hold onto your dead weight without upgrading them properly, that is your choice. nearly always sitting at a 10-15 point balance on your upgrade points because you CAN... 1) the main reason I do that is because I literally forget to spend my points. You spend 100% of your ManMMA time with your team. I spend 90% of my ManMMA time with cards, rankings, FiD, simming, etc. and 10% of it on my team. By the time I remember I wanted to upgrade someone, I usually run out of time and have to sim. 2) Outside of that, often I will just wait until I have someone I really want to upgrade and let people catch up. If you notice, I have not touched Le, Carano, or Silva in a long, long time. I let them coast because I would rather see new champions, for the most part (Murphy over Carano is wrong, so I might fine-tune her for Murphy fights). But you are complaining about me "being ahead" and then complaining that I am sitting on points? That's strange to me. Meanwhile, most of us are always scrambling to put our points into our fighters, even to the point of borrowing points off of you to do it, just so that we can keep the fighters we want or like cuz they're on FiD You have chosen not to participate in 2 different free-point giveaways, totalling 4 free points. I have not participated in those, nor taken points for them. So...you kinda have no leg to stand on here at all. but you're not in the position to have to nickel and dime your fighters like most of the rest of us are either. This is interesting to me. 1) Literally no one else seems to have a problem with this. In fact, if you look around, every single team except xx - Team GAP and The West Coast Knockouts is sitting on unused points. 2) I don't need to nickel and dime fighters, because I upgrade the ones I know will be danger fighters (currently working on Markos). I also use the Training Camp, when most don't. Looks like you aren't using that either. So, you have opted not to get 4 free points and you do not use training camps, and you complain about "nickel and diming" fighters. You are, as they say, the living end. lol.

Yet again with another arrogant rant about nothing by totally misquoting me and only quoting partials of what I've said to mak\e your point, making it invalid. Do you ever quit man? I wasn't even complaining in this thread in the first place... you opened the floor on this one all on your own by bringing something from another thread into this one; a violation of your own damn rule, I might add... lol The fighters you let coast are a majority of your fighters bud.... not just Le, Carano & Anderson, don't kid yourself. lol Though I do agree with you about the Murphy fights though. (Fuck Murphy!) And yes, I'm sure that does seem strange to you that I'm saying (not complaining) that you are ahead because you sit on points, but even sitting on points then dumping them all into one or two fighters all at once, still does, in fact, put you ahead, it's just delayed. That's not a complaint, it's just a fact because of the nature of the work you do around the site. It's your attitude about it that sucks. As for the "free point giveaways", I've opted out of nothing. You chose to opt me out of those yourself over petty disputes by "giving me a choice"... lol "Do this, or else..." bullshit to manipulate situations to your own agenda. (You can hand over those points over anytime by the way.) And the training camps... I have used, and intend to use it again... you can only send one fighter at a time, remember?

I'm saying (not complaining) that you are ahead because you sit on points, but even sitting on points then dumping them all into one or two fighters all at once, still does, in fact, put you ahead, it's just delayed. K, real question then, forgetting this discussion and all the context associated with it. Would you (and everyone else), prefer I upgrade more than like, twice a season? I usually hold out until I think of it and have a plan, but if you guys want me to keep working on all my fighters as I go, I'm cool with that. As I said, holding points when Le or Carano or Anderson or Hansen are in tournements has been to let other people have a shot at beating them. But if fine-tuning them when the opportunity arises is what the league would prefer, I'll take more belts (and points for winning them). Thing is, usually I am saving for a reason, and I make that very, very known. Everyone laughed when I said "Aoki is coming". Then he won a tournament. And people giggled when I said he would win the belt...then I upgraded him and he won the belt. I have been saying the same about Conor and Askren for about 4 seasons. And I have just now said some points are going into Randa Markos before the end of the season. So it's not like these are surprises. They are happening, but it's easier for me to do them all at once because I rarely remember to actually do them. If you would rather I do them as I have points, you will see a lot of upgrades just before a sim, because that is typically when I remember I have fighters on a card, and when I think to do it. But usually, at those times, I don't bother because I don't like upgrading people after the majority of people have predicted on a card. I don't care either way, though (as long as I remember to do it), so let me know. As for the "free point giveaways", I've opted out of nothing. You chose to opt me out of those yourself over petty disputes by "giving me a choice"... lol "Do this, or else..." bullshit to manipulate situations to your own agenda. (You can hand over those points over anytime by the way.) They were "post something here, and get a reward" threads. The first was here, the second was here. You somehow missed both. Given your history of "cram your free point up your ass" come free Christmas point time, I figured you felt the same and chose not to participate in these 2 giveaways. There will be other ones in the future, though, I'm sure. But the point of "post ___ to earn ___" is to keep people active and on their toes, rather than giving free points to people who don't care enough to sign in or check the site type thing. And the training camps... I have used, and intend to use it again... you can only send one fighter at a time, remembe Sure...you have been able to send a fighter since ManMMA 244. We are about to sim ManMMA 254. 3 fighters could have been "camped" in that timeframe.

Not quite. I stopped upping when they win belts. Pretty sure Anderson and Hansen are within 1-2 points tho. Le, I would guess, is about 5-10 away? Carano...I have no idea. I would guess about 3-5? Askren is getting up there though I think, so I gotta start being more effective with his upgrades.

Though, in hindsight, and had I seen those threads, it would've been a moot point for me to have taken those points anyways being they would've been remitted directly back to you anyways because I was still owing you for the trade we made before X-mas. Third Part: It's possible... but this last card posted was the first I'd seen Kedzie in a LONG time, and I believe that's the last fighter I sent to camp. I was more waiting to see her pop up on a card again. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong... but that's what I remember towards the beginning of the season. I know I sent Kampmann as well I believe.

xx - Former Phoenix Fight Club, part 1 was an actual question, you should read that. It was the only part that had nothing to do with our argument, but that was seeking your input on how you (and anyone else) want me to run my team (or the parts of it I don't care about). Anyways, read that. Part 2 - you understand getting 4 free points is still 4 free points, right? You would owe me 4 less points, and have your next 4 points yourself? Like...if you owe someone 100 bucks, and you win 100 bucks, you are still up 100 bucks? If not, then...wow. Part 3 - Camp has nothing to do with Kedzie. You can send a fighter every 4 events, as per the new Training Camp system.

That's just the nature of how that works. My only problem is when you act like a pompous ass and you're "I'm holier than thou" attitude about upgrades... That's it. Part 2: Again, the point is moot since I didn't even see the threads in the first place... but it also defeated the purpose of the Cannon one whereby you were giving those points but you'd still end up keeping 1. Though, since they were gifted and not accumulated per se, you could've just said keep those... either way, doesn't matter cuz I didn't see the threads at all. Part 3: As per the new training system, you still have to wait til the fighter you sent comes back... says so right in the rules of it, unless you changed it between now and last night when I looked again to make sure.

1) Still don't understand your point, other than "Sandmen earns more points and he spends them and I don't like his advice", but ok. Agree to disagree., 2) Not moot. A free point (or 4) is still a free point (or 4). You did not see it. Just like you are not seeing: 3) (From the Training Camp thread: and the last simmed ManMMA event. You will get your fighter back 4 events after that event.
