I find it hard not to let the Steph thing get in the way of his legacy, but I think pre-Steph, he earned a shit-ton on his own. He still was an asshole, fucked a lot of people over, and probably raped some underage women, but I donno. I loved him in 1998 DX, and feel he is a great showman and performer, but he's kinda one of those politicky bastards you have a hard time respecting. I'm sure his Steph thing is legit, but it doesn't help him that he is EXACTLY the type for it not to be legit cuz, you know, look where he is now.

Umm....The Rock was the leader of The Nation. They were a heel faction. Meaning he absolutely used the help of 3-4 other guys.

Early on, yes... but Rock did later prove he didn't need a faction around him to stay on top... something HHH never really did, whether it was D-X, Evolution or having Steph in his back pocket... Hell, Trips even used Stone Cold for a while when they were the Two-Man Powertrip. lol

Regardless, it's the other way around. Stone Cold USED HHH to get himself heat, and even then it didn't work. Stone Cold then used the Invasion angle to get heat, that made things worse, so they turned him back face the night after Survivor Series 2001.

I believe Brett over Kruze. I didn't say he was wrong... but I also didn't say Trips teamed with Stone Cold to establish himself as a top heel either... it was to emphasize that Trips uses folks around him to stay on top. The entire time the Power Trip was around, HHH was champion and Stone Cold was running interference for him. That's the only way Trips, as a character, is able to stay on top as champion. lol Of course he got a more favorable reaction... he was teamed with HHH. Regardless, it's the other way around. I wasn't arguing that, nor was that my point... my point was about HHH not Stone Cold.

Triple H held the IC title s few weeks later, and they both interfered in both of their matches, especially when they had their feud with the Brothers of Destruction, which was when they held all the titles in the WWF at the time. So, again, HHH didn't use Stone Cold in any way during their alliance Post-Mania X7. That whole group was used simply to get Stone Cold some big heat, which never worked. It was never made for H to stay on the top, because he was already at the top and didn't need to back stab anybody to stay.

Fair enough, but it's the same difference, regardless of who had what belt... yes, it was to create heat Stone Cold, but you're completely naive if you believe that it had nothing to do with keeping HHH in the picture and putting him over as well. And being teamed with Stone Cold, it still proves my point that Trips can't be at the top by himself without any help, which was my entire point before and not to do with Stone Cold's situation at all.
