I find it hard not to let the Steph thing get in the way of his legacy, but I think pre-Steph, he earned a shit-ton on his own. He still was an asshole, fucked a lot of people over, and probably raped some underage women, but I donno. I loved him in 1998 DX, and feel he is a great showman and performer, but he's kinda one of those politicky bastards you have a hard time respecting. I'm sure his Steph thing is legit, but it doesn't help him that he is EXACTLY the type for it not to be legit cuz, you know, look where he is now.

Fair enough, but it's the same difference, regardless of who had what belt... yes, it was to create heat Stone Cold, but you're completely naive if you believe that it had nothing to do with keeping HHH in the picture and putting him over as well. And being teamed with Stone Cold, it still proves my point that Trips can't be at the top by himself without any help, which was my entire point before and not to do with Stone Cold's situation at all. |
