i suggest phx and sandmen should get a fucking restraining order. the whole god damn site is phx bitching about everything sandmen babbling a rabuttel, phx bitching more and babbling nonsense, sandmen explaining things so phx understands, phx doesn' understand anything, and it goes on FOR FUKING EVER!!!!!. GUYS NO ONE IS EVEN READING ALL YOUR SHIT get a fuckin room and fuck your angries away and come back fresh or some shit.
or what if we make a rule that if any post is over a paragraph long the poster is fined 5 posts??? can we do that?? guys like me on 3 minutes every 2 days don have time to catch up with 55 books over 55 threads of phx stirring shit up and sandmen playing into his trolling like a stooge or somethin. fuck.

I hear you in the sense that I know I get long-winded with my responses... and I really wish it were as simple as making a one sentence or one paragraph post sometimes man. Thing is that if I don't get long-winded sometimes, what I say gets twisted into something that wasn't meant at all. For me, ot's about being crystal clear 95-98% of the time; not to pick fights, stir shit up or to troll anyone. Am I a saint in all this? If you think you can push me around, you got another thing coming... cuz Matt is my name, not my occupation. Now, the trouble with that is, many of us on this site feel that way too; "we're not going to put up with it". So it's inevitable that we're going have clashes, unfortunately, and Sandman and I happen to be right at the top of that list. It really doesn't matter who starts it or finishes it or even who "wins", not to me anyways... I just don't allow people to walk all over me anymore. So that's where my end of things comes from. |

xx - Former Phoenix Fight Club: Correction. Sandmen always has, and always will, like when people disagree with him. Here, GMX, everywhere in life, I surround myself with people that disagree with me. But those people are people who are willing to discuss disagreements, and use logic to change my mind about something. I'm a man of logic, and as long as you have concrete logic, with facts and figures, my stance on pretty much anything is very fluid. You'll disagree with that until you are blue in the balls, but it's a fact that I think pretty much everyone here knows to be true.
Lord Byron's Conquistadors: I think my problem is I feel that, as administrator of the site, I should make everything clear and that I have a duty to respond to members, even Kruze, when they don't have all the information about something (especially the sim or program), or have missed a piece of fact/research (i.e. because he was on his phone, for example). I have always felt the league is owed that, and have tried to just ignore situations like those that PHX presents but doesn't back up with any real logic or facts, but I just have a hard time with it. Same with those times when a particular member gets in a mood due to a loss and starts blaming the simmer or the program for his fighters shortcomings. I put too much work into keeping the site fair and unbiased to put up with that shit. THAT ALL BEING SAID, I think this is the right course of action: Then discuss that bullshit on skype where 1. no one benefits from the points earnings for babbling on incessantly, and 2. it's private, you can say what you need to say and discuss it among yourselves. No one here participates in these discussions because they are the same old same old. And the information is not beneficial to the rest of the members, so it doesn't really belong here. Take it outside (the site) boys. If anyone has an issue with something, contact me privately. Don't make complaints in the thread itself - it's just making a mess of everything for everyone else. So should we start this "restraining order" suggestion with that? Any complaints, objections to trades, rules, etc., be PMed to admin? Or, since I know some people here just like to be heard publicly, should I start a "Complaints" thread, where the person objecting to something can cite the thread they are on about without directly interfering in the thread itself? That might be a decent idea to start. Thoughts?

You make some valid points there. I still think it's part of the job description to address any and all concerns of members, but if people such as yourself are feeling like doing so is bringing the site down, I'll try your advice for a bit and see what happens. I probably don't give the rest of the members enough credit most of the time, so you are probably on to something there. Thank you for your input.

@ The Sandmen: If any of that were actually true, we would have more actual discussions about things instead of what it always turns into. It may be true in your real life or perhaps it's only me you treat as you do, but I'm fully willing to have actual discussions when they're there to be had. The problem is that they never are, probably because of your "logic". Cuz it doesn't matter how many facts or other logic that is put before you, you refuse to look beyond your own narrow scope of things; your logic... and when attempts to pick something apart doesn't work, you deviate from the subject to draw away from the issue so it'll get lost... then if that doesn't work, you start attacking the person's character l, make it personal, and further distract from the topic, all the while claiming it's the other person doing all of the things you've been doing, and it all errodes from there... cuz if then that doesn't work, you just refuse to discuss anything after that point. I'm willing to talk... bring it. Have I resorted to some of this at times? In past, absolutely... and even now, I get sidetracked when a topic deviation happens and I don't back down when someone tries to attack my character. Is that part of the problem? Sure it is... I'm a man of my convictions, I stand by them and I always tell the truth as I see it. That unfortunately threatens some people. |
