Seems fine, I guess... just don't see the point really. I'd honestly rather see a 2nd weight class for the women (ie. Featherweight & Bantamweight) more than seeing another belt for the men. I would be on board with this too, but we have too few female fighters to split the weight class in half. Each female division would basically be 16 fighters deep.

I would be on board with this too, but we have too few female fighters to split the weight class in half. Each female division would basically be 16 fighters deep. Perhaps, but we also have several dominant women's champions that would be split off into those two weight classes and give more opportunity to all the women, as a whole, to obtain a title, as we do with the men's divisions as well as some that could move up and down as the men do.

xx - Former Phoenix Fight Club, I moved our discussion about this to a new thread, since the issue is separate and we can focus on the women here, while discussion the challenge-based championship in the other thread. I am currently compiling a breakdown of who would fall where if we split the women's division, and we can go from there.

Using Bantamweight as a split, I made this rough breakdown of where fighters might fall if we split the weight classes: Higher weight class Holly Holm (20-8) H Camp Cannon Julia Budd (16-21) H Phoenix Fight Club Julie Kedzie (14-29) H Phoenix Fight Club Sarah D'Alelio (17-20) H Phoenix Fight Club Erin Toughill (31-31) H Team GAP Cat Zingano (15-24) H Phoenix Fight Club Leslie Smith (6-15) H Phoenix Fight Club Milana Dudieva (5-6) H The Sandmen Kim Couture (16-26) H The Underdog Regime Ronda Rousey (54-24-1) H Camp Cannon Rin Nakai (34-32) H Broad Street Bullies Liz Carmouche (21-27-1) H Team GAP Sarah Kaufman (45-22) H Ferocity Jessica Eye (21-24) H Phoenix Fight Club Miriam Nakamoto (5-3) H Phoenix Fight Club Hiroko Yamanaka (40-29) H Ferocity Lauren Murphy (26-6) H Broad Street Bullies Gina Carano (59-10) H The Sandmen Marloes Coenen (44-24) H The Mighty Ducks Cris Cyborg (53-18) H West Coast Knockouts Miesha Tate (30-33) H The Sandmen Alexis Davis (27-29) H Phoenix Fight Club Shayna Baszler (13-23) H The Underdog Regime Rosi Sexton (18-26) H Broad Street Bullies Lower weight class Rose Namajunas (3-2) L Camp Cannon Carla Esparza (5-6) L Lord Byron's Conquistadors Katja Kankaanpaa (2-2) L The RocketMen Joanne Calderwood (6-11) L Camp Cannon Bec Rawlings (8-12-1) L Lord Byron's Conquistadors Kyra Gracie (17-19) L The Sandmen Paige VanZant (9-12) L Camp Cannon Joanna Jedrzejczyk (5-2) L Broad Street Bullies Aisling Daly (7-11) L The Sandmen Tara LaRosa (26-25-1) L Camp Cannon Jessica Aguilar (5-11-1) L Lord Byron's Conquistadors Megumi Fujii (37-30) L The RocketMen Zoila Gurgel (42-27-1) L Team GAP Randa Markos (6-1) L The Sandmen Barb Honchak (17-19-1) L The Mighty Ducks

Looking at the ligher weight class, it might actually be quite interesting to split the division at this time. The heavier fighters seem to control the upper tier of women's fights right now, but the lower-upper tier are still very good and could provide decent competition for a lighter female weight class. There are also a couple heavier ones I think that could quality as lighter ones. Someone like Leslie SMith for example, is listed as a flyweight on Sherdog, despite having her last few fights at bantamweight. She could be in lighter weight class to balance things out.

Another pro is if we brought in a SuperFight Championship, and a light female championship, we would have 2 title fights every event. Right now, we have go 1-1-2-1-1-2, etc up to Zenith.
We are also in a position to add a round to the draft for people who wanted to add a female (or 2) for this.

Yet again, you've taken the idea and put your own twist on it. That isn't what I suggested, especially in terms of the weight class split. The way you've done it makes it appear that there'd effectively be no split at all. But maybe that's exactly what you're trying to do, I dunno, but what I had suggested in splitting them off into featherweight and bantamweight allows more for 2 things: 1) A larger pool of fighters in each weight class 2) For some fighters that have fought at both Featherweight & Bantamweight, mainly the Strikeforce girls that made the switch down to bantamweight, the ability to decide which weight class works for them; just as we do for the men. Of course, gals such as Carano, Cyborg, Budd, etc. that have only fought at 145 would be up in featherweight permanently, just as we have men that cannot move up and down weight classes as well. I'll be able to show myidea for the split a little later on today wehen I have more time. Another aspect of this I'd like as well, more so the adding of the extra title fight to each card as I'd probably stay at my current number of women, but it might encourage a team like KOs to take at least one more woman onto his team. It also wouldn't really affect the GP at all except that the women's GP fights would now become catch weight fights now.

Ok, so in going over your list and crossing it with mine, your division split works a little better for more even numbers. What I'd do is drop Couture, Smith, Sexton and POSSIBLY even Nakai and Eye could even be considered to the lower weight class as well since Nakai has bounced up and down from Bantamweight and down and Eye's fought mostly at 125-130 til she hit UFC, and I think we'd have something here even with 19 fighters in the higher weight class and 20 fighters in the lower. Feather/Bantam Weight Class Holly Holm (20-8) FBW Camp Cannon Julia Budd (16-21) FBW Phoenix Fight Club Julie Kedzie (14-29) FBW Phoenix Fight Club Sarah D'Alelio (17-20) FBW Phoenix Fight Club Erin Toughill (31-31) FBW Team GAP Cat Zingano (15-24) FBW Phoenix Fight Club Milana Dudieva (5-6) FBW The Sandmen Ronda Rousey (54-24-1) FBW Camp Cannon Liz Carmouche (21-27-1) FBW Team GAP Sarah Kaufman (45-22) FBW Ferocity Miriam Nakamoto (5-3) FBW Phoenix Fight Club Hiroko Yamanaka (40-29) FBW Ferocity Lauren Murphy (26-6) FBW Broad Street Bullies Gina Carano (59-10) FBW The Sandmen Marloes Coenen (44-24) FBW The Mighty Ducks Cris Cyborg (53-18) FBW West Coast Knockouts Miesha Tate (30-33) FBW The Sandmen Alexis Davis (27-29) FBW Phoenix Fight Club Shayna Baszler (13-23) FBW The Underdog Regime Fly/Straw Weight Class Rin Nakai (34-32) FSW Broad Street Bullies Kim Couture (16-26) FSW The Underdog Regime Jessica Eye (21-24) FSW Phoenix Fight Club Leslie Smith (6-15) FSW Phoenix Fight Club Rosi Sexton (18-26) FSW Broad Street Bullies Rose Namajunas (3-2) FSW Camp Cannon Carla Esparza (5-6) FSW Lord Byron's Conquistadors Katja Kankaanpaa (2-2) FSW The RocketMen Joanne Calderwood (6-11) FSW Camp Cannon Bec Rawlings (8-12-1) FSW Lord Byron's Conquistadors Kyra Gracie (17-19) FSW The Sandmen Paige VanZant (9-12) FSW Camp Cannon Joanna Jedrzejczyk (5-2) FSW Broad Street Bullies Aisling Daly (7-11) FSW The Sandmen Tara LaRosa (26-25-1) FSW Camp Cannon Jessica Aguilar (5-11-1) FSW Lord Byron's Conquistadors Megumi Fujii (37-30) FSW The RocketMen Zoila Gurgel (42-27-1) FSW Team GAP Randa Markos (6-1) FSW The Sandmen Barb Honchak (17-19-1) FSW The Mighty Ducks Of course this is just out of the currently active fighters. There's still the inactive free agents that are there, and some are still pretty good, especially with the split women's division. Plus, if we want Nakai in the higher class, that would give opportunity for KO's to take one of the lower weight women so he'd have one of each and we'd have even numbers.

Eye and Smith can definitely drop down. Rosi should have probably been there in the first place, my mistake there. In terms of verifiable weight class fights, I have only found a record of Couture and Rin fighting at 135 (in Kim's case, she has even fought at 150 more recently), so they make less sense to move down. I still think the numbers work okay though, especially with the other 3 moving down. I think this is a given, but I just want to clarify beforehand that if we do this weight class change, it will be like the mens. Sometimes some fighters can move up and down, but we won't be doing that 100 times a season. They will be fighters in that weight class, and weight class changes need to be requested and processed through the program and everything.

I know... Kim was a fucking freak though lol 115 or 125 to 150 that she fought at... It was sick. It's probably why she's 3-8 too. lol Rin's fought at 125 too. I understand why you'd want her up at the higher weight, but she'd add more than hinder at the lower level.

I don't have a preference one way or another, I just can't find the site-proof that they have fought anywhere other than what I said. SHerdog doesn't show specific fights (just says their "current?" weight class. I have been using Tapology's fight history, but they only had bantamweight or higher fights for Rin and Kim. If you can find another site to confirm they have fought down, link me up

Unless you're Kim Couture lol fighters don't usually deviate much more than about 10-15lbs. up or down. A few of Rin's earlier fights were at 125-130 cuz you can see that the opponents are currently at 115-130lbs. and under 135; as per Sherdog. Kim's just all over the fucking map in those 11 fights she's had... and my big tip off with her is that Kheyfets hasn't fought over 130lbs.

lol. Thing is, though, I just want some outside, third-party source to confirm the weight thing, just like I use for the men. Lots of people fight heavy for their first few fights, then move down. I'm not finding anything confirming that that was not the case for the Kheyfets-Couture fight.
It's not that I do not believe you, I just like having some sort of objective source to point to in cases like these.

Found it. They fought at 135 youtu.be/KGevZnJ3ld0?t=5m20sI'd still like to find some info for Rin fighting lighter though, since she would be an interesting fighter to have in the lighter weight class (if Bullies wanted her there that is)
