Woooooow you guys are a bunch of lemons . No wonder the mapleleafs suck !! Edit : yeah ! Also makes simming easy for Sandmen. Except we should have HW,MW,LW and a women's fight so only 4 fighters per team. The open weight fights is pointless. A 5th fight is needed so that we can take care of a tie breaker. If there were only 4 fighters chosen for the GP, how many times would we have 2-2 draws? If people like the idea of going back to three fights, I suggest having 2 men's openweight and 1 women's openweight. We all know that essentially, each team will want to put in their best 3 fighters, so having those openweight options makes it a little more strategic in my mind. I still prefer the 5 fighter system, but it's certainly something to think about if Justin thinks doing only 3 fights will make it easier for him.

We could have something Called an Openweight OT fight if it comes to a tie breaker . Where you can choose any fighter on your roster even if he just fought .

The open weight fights is pointless. What is it about the open weight fights that you dislike?

I don't love the open weight class but the others should stay.

I think for me it's that it's really just another HW slot.... Although I always have lots of HWs, so it's not a problem or anything, I just can't remember WHY we have it... I'm guessing it's because people had an uneven number of best fighters in weight classes and wanted a chance to put up their #2s?

You can choose to have someone like BJ Penn fight LWs, or you can use him as your Open Weight fighter, since maybe you have a strong #2 LW, but not a strong HW to put in the OW section. Since every win matters, you have decisions to make that can, and have, affected the outcome of the Grand Prix. More control for teams.

makes sense. I just haven't been strategizing to my benefit with the weight class.

The open weight fights is pointless. What is it about the open weight fights that you dislike? for my team .Other than Overeem I have no hw who can go toe to toe with the back up hw's of most of the leagues teams. But Like ferocity said it's basically just another HW fight . I am starting to upgrade Henderson and Cyborg now so hopefully that will help my chances of making it far in the tournament.

That's where strategy comes in. Like, your best LW (Benson) could put up a decent fight against someone else's backup HW, and you could put Aldo in LW. You could also put Hughes in there for OW and ride Belfort at MW. There are options to move things around with your typical line up to try to creatively improve your chances of success.
