@ The Sandmen: You've kinda gotta include Kedzie in that mix too there dude. Just sayin'...  My original list got too long (Kedzie, Baszler, LaRosa, Toughill, Modefferi, etc, etc, so I had to go with "and the rest". BUT. I singled Carano & Cyborg because their fight in Strikeforce was basically the first women's Superfight. Carano made 125,000 that fight, and they were the main eventers on a card that featured 3 title fights, Melendez, Werdum, Mousasi and Sobral. That fight was huge. That fight, as well as both of their stints in EliteXC is why Strikeforce had a women's division, and why Ronda had somewhere to fight. This, xx - Camp Cannon, is what I am saying. There have been many Olympians before Ronda. But were it not for the pioneers above, PARTICULARLY Carano vs. Cyborg, the division would have been dead before Ronda even started. |

If Uncle Dana will continue to do business with guys like Tito and other guys that have pissed him off, or have had positive tests in the past, like Barnett has, and still got contracts afterwards, it's completely ignorant and you're delusional if you think that Cyborg would never get a contract or ever fight in the UFC based solely on that. That's stupid dude. Cyborg was just as much of a draw as Rousey was, if not more, as was Carano. lol They were there longer. |
