The fun of the active members shot down by the "Post once a season-ers". Excellent. So we'll go with No for this GP, but as a heads up, I'm going to see how this GP goes, but if its boring as shit to sim again, I might allow the SuperFIght champ in next season regardless of popular opinion. I like Grand Prix, but it's excruciatingly long and boring to set up, then sim, then set up again, then sim again and then do it all once last time (the last two in 1 sim sitting). Since I do not care about winning the GP myself, I kinda need something "in it for me" to keep me enthused. The OPTION of some SuperFight title fights would definitely help. If anyone (especially the nays) have ideas about what can be done to make GP more interesting to sim without creating more work for myself, I'm all ears

youd think the once a seasn postrs would come on and spend some of those hard earned free points theyve been stacking up on instead of just voting no to some fun the active members were mostly interested... guess not though

Come up with another idea ("to keep you enthused") just like you always tell us to do when our ideas get shot down. Cuz it wasn't just the once-a-season posters that were against it. And honestly, if you do just implement it after this, you're no better than you claim I was for all ideas that I've had shot down and the one I tried to force through. In any event, for me and on principle, if I had the SF Champion and this was put into place, I'd personally withhold the SF champion out of the GP because the rules need to be upheld by somebody.

You've been out voted this time Justin. Come up with another idea ("to keep you enthused") just like you always tell us to do when our ideas get shot down. Difference here, buttercup, is if I lose interest in simming, the site's dead. If it's the difference between having a GP, NOT having a GP, we can let the league decide on that. If something else comes down to the difference between having a ManMMA and NOT having a ManMMA, then it doesn't matter if the league "shoots down" my idea, I'll do it anyways. At a certain point, investing 2-5 hours a day into a site does, in fact, have to be somewhat about me and what I get out of it. For now, enough members I actually like were not in favour of this change so, for now, I will give the status quo a trial and see if the Grand Prix is still worth the annoyance. If not, we'll look at our options next season. No GP is also an option if Grand Prix week is no longer worth it - because Grand Prix are do take over a week of my damned time. Interesting side-note, keep that in mind when bitching about everything GP, like how you know before it starts who will win, how its predictable, how you hate who got the MVP, etc, etc, etc.

Gathering everyone's lists, doing rankings, setting up the formatting for the fights, setting up the event format, rankings, etc. for round 1. Then after that, doing the same thing for Round 2 (and then doing half of it again for the finals). I would be interested in the results of this via poll, though. Poll it, see who's in favour. DO IT, DO IT NOWWWWWWWW!!!

There was no need to be a dink about it. You tell us to come up with a new idea, shouldn't be hard for you to either.

I did come up with a new idea. I also came up with almost every idea for this site (GP, ironically, was Mike's idea). That being said, I'm not positive if there is even a problem yet. We will see how the GP goes. If I feel the same irritable-stress I often do (often, not always), I will probably have to change something. If I come up with options, cool. If I don't, and no alternatives are presented, I will have to go with the only option that works. For now, that's the option to allow the SF champ into the GP. Time will tell. For now, it's moot. No SF champ in this GP. We'll revisit that around ManMMA 303

It's not so nice being on the other end of it, is it? I'm sure we can come up with a way to get you enthused about the GP again without circumventing site rules and giving teams an unfair advantage. Give it time... the bug's in all our ears to think of something now too, so exactly... ManMMA 303.

LMAO And you say I get uppity when I don't get what I want... I did get what I want. I want the majority of members (particularly those I like) to be happy. So I went with that majority and will continue to do that. I'm happy doing so. But if the cost starts to affect my ability to sim effectively, that will have to take a backseat for the good of the site. As I said to you a billion times, site comes first. And keeping the simmer happy is all part of that (I learned that from jmcook, the dude's a master and has wise words. Mike and I used to be all "site first, then what we want second". Then we'd lose interest in our own sites and stopp simming and they would die because we kept doing what everyone else wanted. )

I don't understand Cannon's comments and most of the others annoyed me as they were bitchier than a bitch in heat.

I personally think sandmen's attitude stinks... voting on what the league wants then saying next season I'll do what I want anyway is not the way this league should be run. If the league votes on something and everyone says no then it should not come into effect at all.
Bad sandmen... bad, bad, bad.
As for something to make things better... what if all fights in gp are open weight. You would send in who would be in fight #1 and who would be in fight #2... might make it a bit more interesting.
