Today is the 27th anniversary of the École Polytechnique massacre.
Short version, on December 6, 1989 a student walked into his university, separated the men from the women, and started gunning down as many women as he could. In the end, 14 women were killed, and another 28 people were wounded.
The gunman claimed feminism ruined his life.
Feminism is, by definition, "the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities" (Merriam-Webster Dictionary).
I am a feminist.
