I believe people are taking advantage too much of stock piling their points. Then they drop 30 or more points into one fighter.
So... my ideas.
1. We cap how many points you can obtain. So if you reach yhe cap then uou just dont receive anymore points till you use the points you have. I believe 15 points is fair.
2. We have a cap for how many points you can have but its a soft cap... meaning that you would continue to gain points but once you reach cap you must divide your points among more fighters... for example lets say the cap is 10. Everytime you go over 10 points you would have to spend your points over 2 fighters. If you collect 20 points you would have to spread your points over 3 fighters etc..
3. I am open to other ideas but i want something that makes sense and we stick to it. Maybe come up with a new punishment for breaking a cap number... i just want people to spend their points instead of hoarding.

I believe there is no advantage. Everyone is getting 2 points per week. Before, folks were stock-piling and just post-whoring to all high hell in getting points, which gave them an advantage over casual participants. Now that the weekly salary points are the same, it doesn't matter if they save their points before they spend it because there isn't any advantage of spending now or spending later.
In fact, those who spend now actually have an advantage because the likelihood is their fighters are growing consistently and thus their records have a chance of improving. If other teams are saving and not spending throughout a season, they remain stagnant until those points are spent.
So no, I do not believe there should be a cap. We have been tagging folks when they get over 20 points to start spending, and most of the time that keeps things moving along for points transactions.
But penalizing someone for remaining a member on the site doesn't feel like a good move to make on behalf of the league.
Now, inactivity is a different thing altogether. If someone disappears for a month or so, then there's a problem.

I will also add that my spending tactics have always been "rack up 20 points, spend on two fighters and cap them off". So I also do not support anyone telling me how I can and can't spend my points accordingly.

I just think that stock piling points leads to inactivity of improving fighters... and id like to see everyone building their fighters. Stock piling to me makes the game less realistic and i think it benefits the site to come up with an option where it promotes people being active with their improvements instead of saving up 30+ points and dumping it into 1 fighter...
For example.. ill pick up a weak ass fighter... and then wont be active with my upgrades (even though im active on the site) and ill save up 100 points and put all 100 points into that fighter.. now that fighter becomes ghe best fighter on the site. Doesnt seem right to me

But refuting teams the same points that everyone else gets is then penalizing the same fighters you want to see improved, so how is that a solution?
Also, 100 points doesn't make someone the best fighter. We have like 15-20 fighters who are capped, and they aren't on the championship banner now are they?

This thread should be titled "GAP's Flaw Filled Idea"

Instead of just shutting down my idea.. come up with ideas to fix this problem

What about a compromise of "If a team has more than 15 points, and have not signed in for (X amount of days), they do not get their weekly points"? I mean, at that point neglect is very possible/probable. I see both sides here. I don't love points stock-piling up to like, 20-30. But there are always lots of reasons for it. I used to do it because I had a bunch of champions, and, as site admin, I had no interest in using my points to continue to dominate other members. It was like letting people catch up. I would not be surprised if this is closer what Bullies is doing right now. I do think I agree that when people are not spending points. They become less engaged (you are less motivated to check back and see if your 2-6 upgrades have made a difference, or HOW they have made a difference). I don't agree that stock-piling then power-upgrading has a big impact anymore though. I think the advantage now goes to people who take their time and upgrade slowly, incrementally, and properly. With over 60 capped fighters in the league, simply being maxed is no longer enough. HOW you max is what matters. Look at guys like MacDonald and Lima. Maxed. Kinda average. Then you have Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Not maxed. Dominant champion. Other little notes: - I think Mike tagging people when they hit a certain number helps some. People feel the peer pressure, so they do something. - No one wants this (so I will undermine my whole post by leaving it here for everyone to yell at me about), but my life would be easier if we moved more towards having clearly defined max/min numbers for each weight class per team. Matchups, season fight numbers, and even making rules about point stockpiling, would all be much easier. (No one needs to focus on this too much unless you love it for some unprecedented reason - we've established our rage towards it many times before )

I feel like the real problem here is the fact that Ferocity hasn't been on since last year...

this doesnt work i put like 100 point into rousey n she still lost to carano n kaufmann uncapped.. 2 theres was already a hoarding point suggestion of 15 but sandmen only implented that on me n no one else.. also 3 i hoard my points cuz i take projected woman fighter that no one knows of like paige at the time n holly holm n use my stock pile of point to remove them off the fid which take 4 points per fighter

Cannon... there is a huge difference between hoarding 4 points and 25.. it is fair to allow people 15 points to play with.. but when people hoard more it really is not a good thing.
