What does it take for fighters to enter tournaments to become the number one contender for a title, because there are a few fighters who were in the tournaments coming off a loss. I feel like they should have two to three wins before they can enter a tournament. Unless there is a reason for them getting into the tournament on a losing streak.

I think they usually need to be on a small winning streak to be considered or at least have beaten someone of moderate importance to squeeze in. I also think they cycle out if they lost previous tournament, but I am not positive.

What does it take for fighters to enter tournaments to become the number one contender for a title, because there are a few fighters who were in the tournaments coming off a loss. I feel like they should have two to three wins before they can enter a tournament. Unless there is a reason for them getting into the tournament on a losing streak. I build tournaments thusly. 2) People who are on multi-fight winning streaks are top priority. 3) Then people who are coming off a win are second priority. 4) Then, in case of a tie, one person per team. 5) Ranked fighters who are due for a fight. Now here is where #1 comes in, which ultimately decides more tournament make-ups than any other. DOES THE TOURNAMENT MAKE SENSE? For example, often I will have a fighter who has had no recent upgrades, and has an overall record of (4-19) reach a 2 fight win streak. He/she SHOULD be in the tournament. BUT, if the other 3 people in the tournament are top 5 ranked fighters, with 55-20 records, it will make no sense to include the 4-19 guy. He will be destroyed. Sometimes if he is on a 2+ fight win streak, I still will, but usually I will pass over that person and grab a ranked person so the tournament makes sense. These are more often then not the reasons you see guys coming off a loss getting into a tournament - because they are highly ranked and the rest of the tournament needed to make sense.

What a detailed and informative explanation, thank you, I never knew it was that big of a process.
