Here's a rather different suggestion... What do you guys, as a league, think about issuing "Temporary Ban Privileges" to certain, distinguished members. I was thinking of starting by hand-picking a few people who have served the site for a while, do well by it, are dedicated, and have proven their loyalty and trustworthiness. Those people get 2 bans per season, and can be used at any time to ban another member for a to-be-determined amount of time (a couple hours to no more than a day). That way, members hwo have earned such a right have some recourse when they are being harassed by other, more shady members, and it helps take some of the burden off of me in dealing with everyone's shit-storm of chaos. We won't be discussing what members I may have in mind for this special privilege at this time, only what you guys think about the idea itself.  Thoughts? |

I like it, it'd give everybody some time to cool off from an argument. You should also give one member the ability to lock threads so if an argument gets out of hand they can lock the thread and shut it down.

I dont like the idea... cause then every season you would have more people getting banned... or banned at bad times... for example i ban rocketmen right before we have a championship fight against each other... then i boost my fighter and rocketmen cant boost cause he is banned. Or bannings for no good reason.

I like it as long as bans can be over ruled. If someone bans someone else and people don't agree it should be over ruled.

People seemed to have missed this part. I would not give 2 bans to members who would just get bored and ban someone. The Killing Joke would absolutely not have the right to ban people. That, and the time-frame thing. I guess i thought of it as a way for people to combat someone when they are on a troll-rampage. Kind of like an added perk for being here for a while and proving you are not a tool, and having the right to basically tell people to take a breather. |

I like the idea. Sandmen does a lot already, so having a few people there to help him out if things get chaotic would be good. Almost a semi-mod to help keep things running smooth.

People, just use your own "ban" option, and their posts will be hidden. You control if you want to see their content or not. Easy peasy.
Use the tools you have.
