So... I like this site and enjoy being on it, but I have many responsibilities and I just don't have time to properly care for my team or keep up with the fights. So I would like to ask if I could keep a special 2 fighters and disperse the rest of my team. Forrest Griffin and Sarah Kaufman have been with me from the beginning and I still enjoy reading their fights.
What do people think? I want to still be a part of things, but I want to be fair to other members who might actually want my fighters too.

My only question is how would your team be dispersed? Would people say who they want, and you decide where they go? Or is it a first come first serve type of thing? I'd really like Rich Franklin and Joachim Hansen. Just gonna throw that out there. Glad to see you're not leaving the site completely.

There would be an auction for the rest of her fighters, or if she wants trades with her for the other fighters. |

Forget the fighters for a second (I will post what we are doing with them a bit later, if no one has any prob lems with Ferocity taking this steo. I want to more clearly outline whats going on here before we get to that. I discussed this with Ferocity and she had said basically while still wanting to be part of the community and still cared about a couple of her fighters, neither of us felt it particularly fair she lock up fighters she doesn't care about when other people could want them. So the fallout from this would be this: 1) She will get 1 point a week instead of 2 (Kind of irrelevant, since I think her fighters are maxed anyways - unless Mike has a problem with that, if its easier to stick with 2, neither of us really cared) 2) Needless to say, Ferocity will be ineligible for Grand Prix 3) As such, to keep things fair and clean, she will draft last in every subsequent season draft.. 4) She is still a member of the community, her vote in awards and polls still matters. 5) She is still eligible to win predictors and bonus points. Did I miss anything? Aside from "Can I have her fighters", are there any other lingering questions, comments, or concerns about this move? |

What happens if she decides she wants fighters back? She has assured me she won't (we've been PMing about this for a few weeks now), but if she does, she will have to work out a trade or something to get them back. |

Okay, so here is how I'm going to handle this.
Since we are so close to the seasons end, I'm not going to bother with an auction at this time. Instead, I'm going to keep Ferocity's full team in tact until the end of the season, giving her one last shot at the Grand Prix. After her season is over, all of the fighters she does not want to keep will be available to draft.
I will look over league numbers to confirm everything, but at this point II'm leaning towards requiring a swap in order to take one of her fighters at the draft. League numbers have been running a little high and this is a great opportunity to curb them slightly and shed some extra bodies off of the site in exchange for some of the gems coming off of her team.
Unless someone has an idea for a third option. I am all ears in this thread.

Win-win for everybody. Step 1 - Convince me a draft is unfair. Worst teams finish last, get first change at a fighter. She has 12 fighters, every team gets a chance at one of her fighters if they want one. It's also a lot easier than doing the weighted auctions I have done in the past. I mean...technically the weighted auctions are the most fair thing around. Would you guys prefer the weighted auctions? I think I want to have Ferocity finish the season with her current roster though (she is in a playoff spot and I would like to let that play itself out), but we could have this set up to do a round of auction leading into the draft, basically. |
