Every once in a while, I float the idea of having roster caps (i.e. a maximum number of fighters you can have on your team).
I ran it by a couple different people recently, and they all seemed to be on board, so I figured I would mention it here again.
Because a roster cap is more about booking and league numbers than it is about there being an inherent problem with people locking up fighters or anything like that, I was thinking about doing something along the lines of a formula.
Something like this:
League cap = 30 - (# of league members).
Therefore, right now, we would have a roster cap of 16. If someone resigned, roster cap would go up to 17. If we got a new member, cap would go down to 15. That sort of thing. I don't think I would ever go below 15 though - 3 fighters per weight class always seemed and felt like a perfect ideal to me.
Anyways, this is being posted right now as both a very tentative warning, as well as a "thinking out loud", and I am sure a heated argument will break out. If we do bring in roster limits, you will have time to do things, or make trades, or what have you. Further, I don't think I'm going to make any concrete decisions on it until I see how the draft and auctions pan out.

I have no real issue with 3-4 per weightclass... Only one I have excess of that right now is in BW, and, from the sounds of it, the women aren't going to be affected anyways. I've also got 18 fighters total... So nothing here is a huge hardship. You seem to forget how much downsizing I've actually done over the last 3-4 seasons.
