Currently, the draft is based on Grand Prix standings. I suggest we make the draft based entirely on regular season standings.
My reasons: - Regular season takes into account things like champions. Since champions cannot compete in the GP, sometimes the best teams are eliminated early, because their best fighters are not in the GP since they have titles. - The draft would be completely uninhibited by the speed or progress of the Grand Prix. This would take a little stress off of my shoulders to keep both the GP and Draft moving smoothly and, more importantly, independently. By having the draft order set as soon as the regular season ends, it can run smoothly on its own while I get GP done at my own pace.
Possible downside(s): - The GP team gets 3 points for winning the GP, which some may argue is fair reason they should get the last pick of the round.
I think this is one of those cases where the pros are pretty large and the cons relatively small. Any other pros or cons? Thoughts? Opinions? Etcs?

Either way is fine since you never wait til the GP is over before you start rushing the draft anyways.

Based on regular season standings, but the winner automatically gets last pick? How about that?

Either way is fine since you never wait til the GP is over before you start rushing the draft anyways. Since I have about 8+ years experience running sim sites, I know the importance of a quick, efficient off-season. Plus, 24 hours is ample time to make a pick. Especially when you know the draft is coming weeks before hand, and you know where you are picking several days before the draft starts.

Based on regular season standings, but the winner automatically gets last pick? How about that? Can't, because we don't know the winner of the GP before it is simmed, and that cancels out the whole second reason for the suggestion. If we have to wait for the GP to finish before moving on with the draft, the suggestion accomplishes less than its worth.

Ok I get it... with that being clarified, I agree with the suggestion.

If you're in the middle of trade negotiations, 24 hours isn't always enough. You should know that with your "VAST experience". 😂

It's why the NHL almost always extends their 3PM trade deadline to the next new moon just in case a team still needed to make a trade. Shame on you The Sandmen for not following common NHL rules.

Don't start trade negotiations when you are on the clock. You knew you were dead last weeks ago, you knew you had the first pick several days ago. You posted 0 trade blocks. GAP posted a trade block for his picks and had both of them moved in less than 3 hours.

No, they actually have a grace period after the deadline passes for last minute deals to be processed. That's common knowledge.

No, they actually have a grace period after the deadline passes for last minute deals to be processed. That's common knowledge. Incorrect. Your incorrect is incorrect. The nhl does have a grace period but the trade has to already be on the table at the deadline time in order to activate yhe grace period. During the grace period the trade can only be declined or accepted... no modifications.
