I downloaded the UFC 3 Beta, and I just thought I'd post my opinion on it here, but before I do that I just want to say i've only played like three fights, and I got my ass kicked in two of them.
The game is definitely harder than UFC 2, which I can proudly say I mastered. And when I say mastered, I mean I win most online fights and I can beat the computer on the hardest difficulty. The thing that's great about UFC 3 is how it flows so well. The punches, kicks and movements are very fluid, and the graphics are a bit better. The announcers also seem more alive, and less robot like. The bad thing is they changed a lot of the controls, so it takes a while to get used to. And it only offers like eight fighters in the lightweight division. I'll still be getting the full game when it comes out, but I definitely want them to fix a few things before it's released.
Oh! I almost forgot, they changed the Reebok shorts they wear in the game, where they can be colored now and represent your hometown. Not that big of a deal, but it made me happy.

does it still have the movement positioning for submissions>? It's still the same for passing guard, and other transitions, but there's a new option called simple submissions where you just button mash faster than the other person, and the more that limb is hurt, then the less you have to mash.

UFC Undisputed 3 still has the best submissions in any MMA video game. Fun. Simple. Logical. And simulates the actual submission process well too.

I would have to disagree with this statement. I played with him in UFC 2 and he had a lot more success standing than he did on the ground.

I was best at button-mashing and the rapidly spin the knob thing from Undisputed 2. Undisputed 3 was just fun, win or lose. The gates in the EA games are dumb, and slow down the action for no conceivable reason.

Hate the gates. Hate them. They are probably fine if you have not experienced better, but I have experienced both somewhat better and super-better, so to me they are trash and frankly ruin the entire submission system for me (thus almost 50% of the game).
