We're here with the new Flyweight Champion, Jessica Eye.
1) Jessica you've come a really long way to get here and win your first title. Almost two years ago, November 16th 2016 you were traded to a new gym. The Mighty Ducks sent you to The Texas Rattlesnakes on a two fight losing streak. One of those losses against former champ, Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Without fighting a single fight with The Texas Rattlesnakes you were traded to your current gym, The Killing Joke just ten days later. You've been on a hot streak ever since. Your first fight with The Killing Joke was against former Rattlesnakes teammate, Sara McMann. Seven events later you faced Sara McMann in a rematch in a bantamweight tournament. One event later, you knocked out Sarah Kaufman to earn a shot at the Bantamweight Championship. Unfortunately Gina Carano defeated you in the second round.
2) After that you announced you were going to drop to Flyweight. What made you want to do that?
3) Your first fight at flyweight was a dominating victory over Jessica Andrade. Then you knocked out Carla Esparza. After that you beat Bec Rawlings. Then you faced currant teammate, Megumi Fujii, and submitted her in the first round to advance to a number one contender fight. You earned the shot at a title after a dominating knockout over Paige VanZant. Before your title fight, you competed in the Grand Prix where you choked out Miesha Tate. At ManMMA 384 you were defeated by Jedrzejczyk in the 1st round. After that you went on to win four fights in a row, knocking out Joanne Calderwood, Jessica Aguilar, and Paige VanZant to earn another shot. This time you were victorious in defeating Carla Esparza for your first title.
4) How does it feel to be champion? And do you hope to fight Joanna Jedrzejczyk in the octagon again soon?
5) Do you ever see yourself going back up to bantamweight?
