After posting this, I realized it's a pretty light card, aside from the main event. The one big thing here though is the LW division title race is SO tight right now, the top 3 LW fights on this card all could very well have contendership ramifications. NOT #1 contender fights here, but it's probable that 2 LWs on this card will be fighting in a #1 contender fight very soon. Depending on who wins.

Just a point of note for the LWs, if Danzig wins his next fight for Team Phoenix, that will put his record at 4-0 and likely puts his name in contension as well, does it not? Silva B. Henderson D. Henderson Aoki Gustafsson Melendez Poirier Frye Faber Carwin Kazushi Mir Abbott

Depends who he beats, but it's very possible, depending on how the above fights play out. LW is really really crammed right now. That's why it's exciting.

I agree, but even if he does garner the 4-0 record, that should put him atleast close to contender. In real MMA it's generally 3, so I figure 4-5 wins in a row would give standing enough in a fantasy forum such as this. Just my opinion though...

In real MMA it's not 3 - there is no number, or anything even consistant like that at all. In real MMA it's "who has been impressive" which can range from 2 all the way up to, in some cases 15 or more if the guy has been fighting outside of the UFC. But it depends a lot on where a fighter is ranked too. Top 5 fighters have to win a lot less than lower top 10 fighters to get a title shot/contendership fight.
