FAQ:
1) What the hell? Why not just make Danzig-Penn a #1 contender fight? - BJ has lost to Henderson twice and only has a 2 fight win streak going. If Danzig beats Penn, he has shown he is title contender quality.
2)Then why not Benson vs. Danzig? Benson fought at 67, and if he lost that fight to Guida, then Guida would have probably earned #1 contender shot, as he was then in the same position Danzig is in in this bout. Follow all that? Any of that make sense? Told ya LW was tight.
3) Didn't Anderson JUST fight? Yes.
4) Then why is he fighting again? - Because GSP DESPERATELY needs a fight, as he has sat out most of this season. He is by far the next #1 contender, and with no one else really close, it would make no sense for him to wait another 4 events, or for him to fight a meaningless fight, risking injury or loss to unworthy opponent. Anderson took minimal damage in his last fight, and this fight just makes sense.
5) If GSP was #1 Contender, why did Silva fight Franklin? - Because Rich fought (I believe) Matt Hughes in a #1 contender fight. At the time, both had similar, contender-worthy records, and both had a win over Champion Silva. So a battle leading up to Silva vs. one of the guys that beat him made sense. GSP was one of 3 people worthy of the #1 contendership fight at that time, but Anderson had already beat him once, thus he was the odd man out. He won after that, adding to his case for a title shot.

Does everyone like how I never stopped treating Cro Cop like the beast he once was? I don't think he has ever had an easy fight. At least in this bout the record spread balances because Couture is coming off a loss or two and Cro Cop is coming off a win.

There might be some love, just no faith in his ability to top BJ. That's a big mountain he's got there.

Danzig is a solid fighter, but he`s not that good. 3-0; 2 of which are KO's victories, is not that good? ??? Ok. we'll see what happens later on today then. I don't think it's going to be the cakewalk for BJ y'all are expecting here. And that's not just because Danzig's on my team either... I went back and looked at BJ's last 3-5 fights, and he hasn't been fighting that well lately at all. Danzig's actually has more of a shot in this fight than you realize, just based on that. lol But then again, our game engine is fucked up, so almost anything can happen.

I'd actually prefer Danzig to win this. I can't stand Penn. But I have to pick BJ based on his record so far. I need to see more fights from Danzig.
