-Vancouver, BC- PhoenixFC.comCat Zingano returned to ManMMA with authority this past week at ManMMA101 with a decisive TKO victory over Aisling Daly. Zingano, who had a rough start in ManMMA going 1-3 in her first 4 bouts with Camp Cannon, says that her new attitude definitely stems from being drafted by Phoenix Fight Club at this year's draft. "Over at Camp Cannon, it's more about the "eye candy" than it is about actually fighting and training. It was really disheartening." Zingano claims, "It was almost a relief to be released, to be honest. I had heard rumblings that Phoenix was looking to shore up there Women's program prior to the draft and after they picked Julia Budd with their first pick, I knew they were serious." Phoenix then traded for The Sandmen's pick and wasted little time in releasing LW Miguel Torres and selecting Zingano 10 Overall, who was considered by many to be a longshot after her first 3 fights being losses coming at the hands of Shanya Baszler, Liz Carmouche and Julie Kedzie with her only victory to that point coming against Hitomi Akano before her release from Camp Cannon. "Having the season off to reflect and train really helped me, I think." Zingano said, "Kind of refocus and retool for the next step and with the dedication that Phoenix is showing for their Women's program now, it's a perfect fit for me. I couldn't be happier." Zingano steps away after Mario Yamasaki stops her fight against Aisling Daly at ManMMA 101.As for those next steps, Zingano seems to have a clear plan "I'm a fighter. I'm a competitor. And I would love to step back into that cage against Shayna and Liz to avenge those first two losses. As far as I'm concerned they got lucky, they won't be as lucky the second time around." As for Kedzie, Zingano says that "Jules and I are teammates now. If our paths should happen to cross again, I'll gladly take the fight, but I'm really enjoying training with her now. I've learned allot from her and the rest of the girls here at Phoenix already." The HammerFists, Team Ramrod nor ManMMA could be reached for comment at time of story release, but you can rest assured that with Zingano coming out and issuing the challenge, we could very well be seeing Zingano vs. Baszler or Carmouche II in the very near future. "I'm looking to progress and become the champion eventually this time around." Zingano concludes, "If you're not here to be the best, then what's the point of being here at all." With her new attitude and her impresive domination of Aisling Daly in her return to ManMMA, we'll definitely be seeing allot more of the "Alpha Cat" as we move forward. Should Cris Cyborg be taking notice yet? Only time will tell, but for Cat Zingano, the only direction to move on the Women's ladder, is up.

It didn't take long for HammerFists' camp to release a comment, and their front-runner of their women's camp spoke of Zingano's progression.
"It's not a matter of the time away, it's a matter of being mentally focused," said Marloes Coenen. "Zingano didn't have that focus when she was last here, and I've yet to see it now. That doesn't mean I don't wish her well. I'm always hoping we get a chance to fight in the best possible fights night in and night out. I just don't think she's there yet. But when she is, the league knows I'll be her first step into that upper class. I can assure you all, it will be the hardest step she's ever tried to make in her life."

lol And it looks like Carmouche decides to duck a rematch with Zingano. Coenen's gotta speak for her. Hilarious.

Despite a desperate attempt by The Sandmen to stay out of this debacle, Zoila Gurgel issued the following statement:
"Ya know, I don't get why this Coenen chick has to butt into stuff that has nothing to do with her. Is she that desperate for attention? If Carmouche is afraid, that's one thing, but to step up and talk shit about another fighter you have absolutely nothing to do with is just pathetic. There's a reason I destroyed that chick twice - she shoves her big chin into everyone else's business - and their fists for that matter. She's talking about focus? She's been grilled hard by her camp and groomed for a title shot, and she gets the floor mopped with her any time the competition gets a bit heavy. She's a joke in this division, and she needs to know her place - flat on the mat with me standing over her."
Though management for The Sandmen could not be reached directly, inside sources claim the close-nit group typically stand by their fighters.

"What the hell happened?" said a confused Carmouche who recently returned from a visit with her family following her recent loss at her ManMMA return. "I get on a plane and everything is fine, I get off and it seems like there's a lot of hatred running around the women's division. I'm always looking to improve myself, and I don't bother to get involved with the trash-talking through you, the media. I let my talking happen in the octagon. I recognize my weaknesses and I'll be working to improve them. If someone wants to say something, why not call up the match-maker and do something about it. If all you want to do is gain some fans through the media, well that's just pathetic. I'll earn my fans with dignity."

I'll earn my fans with dignity. Cat: Then take the challenge, if you have any dignity, Lizzie. *Kimbo Slice isn't here because he has more important things to do like prepare for a fight against an apparent voyeur.* Guess he didn't prepare too well... He didn't do the "Peeping Mirko" training regime... And he doesn't use P90x lol

Cat Zingano: Well then... If HammerFists doesn't have the guts to "allow" Lizzie fight cuz she might break a nail... : I call on Team RamRod and Shayna Bazsler. Will you take the challenge? **Phoenix Fight Club endorses this challenge**Put an (*) on Liz Carmouche... she refused. Are your scared?

Nice job of hyping up your fighter Phoenix. If she gets her ass kicked in fights I expect to see a post on here of her saying she was too cocky and such. Also maybe include a photo of her getting cleaned up like the other Phoenix member BJ Penn trashed a bunch of MMA events ago
