This has been a GREAT card. Jeez.
Okay, so this fight was awesome. Rockhold was doing BIG damage, and almost certainly won rounds 1 and 2. Not that he was running away with it, but if we were scoring rounds, the fight would be 2-0 unanimously. Wanderlai was returning some damage, but not enough to steal any rounds. Rockhold was also having MUCH better between-round recovery than Wanderlei, so he looked to have this one firmly in the bag. In round 3, Silva went bat-shit-ape-crazy and did some massive damage near the end of the round. Though the total damage was still almost even, Wanderlei had a better recovery between rounds 3 and 4 than Rockhold did because of the Silva barrage in round 3, and he never turned back, coming out blazing in round 4 to finish the fight. Both did enough damage to the other to get a finish in almost any other fight, but these two are tough buggers.

This has been a GREAT card. Jeez.
Okay, so this fight was awesome. Rockhold was doing BIG damage, and almost certainly won rounds 1 and 2. Not that he was running away with it, but if we were scoring rounds, the fight would be 2-0 unanimously. Wanderlai was returning some damage, but not enough to steal any rounds. Rockhold was also having MUCH better between-round recovery than Wanderlei, so he looked to have this one firmly in the bag. In round 3, Silva went bat-shit-ape-crazy and did some massive damage near the end of the round. Though the total damage was still almost even, Wanderlei had a better recovery between rounds 3 and 4 than Rockhold did because of the Silva barrage in round 3, and he never turned back, coming out blazing in round 4 to finish the fight. Both did enough damage to the other to get a finish in almost any other fight, but these two are tough buggers.
