HOLY SHIT. Awesome, awesome fight to watch. I have not been this excited watching a ManMMA fight since GSP-Le went like, 13 rounds. Or perhaps the second Carano-Kaufman slugfest from here. Coenen came out strong and dominated the piss out of Zoila for the first round. She used some energy, but Zoila had lots of energy. But very little health (20% tops?) . Round 2, Coenen came out strong almost finished Zoila (took her down to about 10% health?), but started to get a bit tired. Her stamina was running low. Round 3 was the turning point. Zoila pushed and pushed and pushed. Coenen was able to do little to no damage, but she grew EXHAUSTED. Zoila started fighting back a bit, and in round 4, and for the first time in the fight, Zoila actually recovered some health, and actually did some damage to Coenen. Round 5 was ALL Zoila. I was curious if this would be a controversial decision, but Coenen had NOTHING left, and Zoila just teed off on her for nearly 5 full minutes before securing a buzzer-beater submission for the win. Seriously, this will probably get my vote for fight of the year. Great comeback. Heart and stamina won this fight, because Coenen was stronger and definitely tougher.

HOLY SHIT. Awesome, awesome fight to watch. I have not been this excited watching a ManMMA fight since GSP-Le went like, 13 rounds. Or perhaps the second Carano-Kaufman slugfest from here. Coenen came out strong and dominated the piss out of Zoila for the first round. She used some energy, but Zoila had lots of energy. But very little health (20% tops?) . Round 2, Coenen came out strong almost finished Zoila (took her down to about 10% health?), but started to get a bit tired. Her stamina was running low. Round 3 was the turning point. Zoila pushed and pushed and pushed. Coenen was able to do little to no damage, but she grew EXHAUSTED. Zoila started fighting back a bit, and in round 4, and for the first time in the fight, Zoila actually recovered some health, and actually did some damage to Coenen. Round 5 was ALL Zoila. I was curious if this would be a controversial decision, but Coenen had NOTHING left, and Zoila just teed off on her for nearly 5 full minutes before securing a buzzer-beater submission for the win. Seriously, this will probably get my vote for fight of the year. Great comeback. Heart and stamina won this fight, because Coenen was stronger and definitely tougher.
