How Coaches Would Work
- You can choose to purchase a coach. Or you can choose not to.
- A coach will cost points. A coach will give you a set number of additional "bonus" points at the end of each season.
- Each season, point payouts diminish by 1 (so for season 1, you might get 5, then season 2 you get 4, then 3, then 2, bottoming out at 1 point paid out each season for as long as you have that coach.)
- To compensate for the altered pay structure, coaches with a starting pay-out of 2 points will produce 2 points for their first AND second season.
- A coach's price and rewards will be determined based on coaches reputation. It is posted below.
- You may only have 1 coach.
- Coaches, like fighters, can be traded.
- Coaches can be bought, drafted, or traded any time during non-trade freeze time (so between the draft and ManMMA 357, for example).
- Coach payouts are awarded after the Grand Prix has concluded each season.
How Much Would a Coach Cost?
Something like this:
(additional coaches obviously available upon request for review - but this was made using 4 different "best MMA coaches of all time" lists. And we obviously had to ignore coaches like Matt Serra and Randy Couture, since they are in the league as fighters)

Can we spend points to upgrade our coach?
At this time, no. We might look into it in the future, but as an "introductory package", upgrading coaches will not be an option. I do feel, however, over time we might find a way to incorporate the upgrading of coaches. I just do not know how at this point in time. The door is not closed, but it is not fully open right now either.
Why the damn not?
Because who a coach is matters. The top coaches in the world are not on the same level as the guys coaching at your local YMCA. If we allow upgrading, we run into the issue of realism. Someone like, say, Greg Jackson is not on the same level as Edmond Tarverdyan. It would be silly and, in my opinion concept-ruining, to allow someone to make Edmond a better coach than Greg Jackson. It's just re-opening the can of worms we are still dealing with with the whole "what fighters deserve to be here" debate. No need to have it spill over to coaches as well.
How Will We determine Coach draft order?
1 of 3 options.
1) Same as the draft order (but in a separate "coach draft" before or after the actual draft)
2) Randomized order, completely separate from the draft order.
3) Incorporate it into the draft itself, so in the first round you can choose a fighter, a coach, or a point.
A Coach I like isn't on your list above. Can I still pick them?
Suggest them for review, then probably. As long as it's not someone stupid, like Mickey Gall. But when the draft comes, you must pick from the list. No off-board crap. So if there is someone you want, either PM me, or post the coach here or something.
