Share a song with us and a story. Show us a song you can't get out of your head, or a song you irrationally hated (or justifiably hated) and why.
I will start.
I no longer can listen to the song "The Reason" by Hoobastank because on the day of my graduation, a friend of mine went out in a boat with a kid a grew up playing hockey with. Friend didn't wear a life jacket, was a bad-weather day, and they were wearing jeans and a full jacket outfit. Friend got tangled in the rope for their anchor, slipped in the boat, and hit his head on the way into the water on the edge of the boat. My hockey friend, who was a lifeguard, jumped in to save him, but the one that fell in got tangled in his fishing rod and line and couldn't be pulled to shore without both drowning.
This event rocked my small town, and fucked up a lot of people at our school. My friend that passed away was also a twin. His twin brother played The Reason by Hoobastank at his funeral as a dedication to his brother. Song forever tainted.
Feel free to comment on this story or share your own experience.
Also, my apologies for starting this off on an incredibly depressing note lol it was just the first thing that came to mind. I have many others to share that are more entertaining.

This song comes to mind instantly. This song just comforted me through a lot of depressing moments of life. I don't want to go into detail.

When both Sams broke up with you? Both? There was only one. The relationship lasted three days and I was just as happy as she was to get out of that thing. I'm much happier with the girl I'm with now.

And 3 days? That's not even a relationship, there's nothing to break up there lmao.

I met a girl at a dance and we dated for the duration of the dance and then basically never spoke again. We had a song.
Don't Speak by No Doubt. And trust me, after the dance, I did exactly as the song told me to.

I dig it, Ducks haha
I always liked how crazy everyone was about having a "song" in middle/high school. Usually whatever the radio played that week.

At this very second, the song that is perma-stuck in my head because it's constantly played on this alternative rock radio station I listen to at work is:
