1) It literally does happen. More often than we see (unless you are Tim Sylvia, that guy never gets a break). It's one of those "comes with the sport", as a result of a supplement-rich diet, combined with weight-cutting, combined with the abnormal strain 15-25 mins of fighting (clenching and unclenching muscles) puts on the body. Honestly surprised it doesn't happen all the time. It happens often in training and stuff too, from what I have heard, but there are no cameras or gawking people there.

2) The unfortunate thing about it is this was a really good fight, but most people are sharing a still from the last 6 seconds of the fight, rather than the fight itself, where this incident played literally no part.
