When you trade points "as acquired" (or points you do not have yet), Rocketmen processes them this way:
- Points are added to the team that gets them - points are removed from the team that trades them, putting that team into a minus until the debt is paid off.
I didn't really give too much thought to this until now, but because of this processing system, points are being loaned out, instead of being moved as they are acquired. Since this is a much easier and cleaner way to process points, Rocketmen and I do not want to divert from that system. It's clean, and it works well.
But loans cannot be dished out without interest.
Therefore, starting this season (so, now), if you are trading points you do not have, you will owe a 20% interest point fee (rounded up to the next whole number) on top of that.
i.e. if you trade 20 points as acquired, 20 will go to the person you trade to, and your Point Transactions account will be set to -24. If you trade 2 points as acquired, 2 will go to your trade partner, and your account will be set to -3.
Let the bitching begin (?).

I'm assuming this is from me... In part. It is what had it on my mind while I was talking to Mike about processing points (since he was doing that for end-season work, while I was processing some rosters and keeping an eye on your thread). Something along these lines had occurred to me a while ago when I saw how Mike processed "as acquired" points though, but I forgot about it at that time.

i dont liek as acquired rule ppl can quit That's part of the gamble. Now with this set-up, any owed points would likely be removed from the guy who received them. But it's unlikely to come up anyway. The trades are rare, and usually done by people who have been here for years. Plus of all the trades I am likely to get involved in, "as acquired" trades are the most likely to get rejected for this very reason.
