Your team need and your quality of bid (based on who you have available on your team to bid), combine for a ranking. All bids are then ranked, and then the weighted draw is conducted. (Weighted meaning if you had the best bid and you had the most need, you probably get like, 7 "names in the hat" vs other bidders "1 each" type thing. So if you bid someone good for Coleman or Cain, you probably would have won (or at least had a much better chance of winning), since your HW division is not that great. The reason quality comes into play is these trickle-down auctions. Rattlesnakes bid a GOOD HW to get a better one. Now, another team gets to benefit from his Jones bid, and the whole league benefits. This is the point of having these auctions. |

I donno what was posted before/what this was in reply to (I am assuming something from The Texas Rattlesnakes?), but you are basically supposed to do both. If you change your bid, you should edit the original post. BUT, you also need to post again in the thread basically saying "bid edited" or something, so people know that your bid has changed so that they can decide if they, too, want to edit/change their bids. They do not get notifications if you edit, but they do when you post in the thread. |
