Neither Bullies nor Underdogs have been on the site since May. I have used all the resources I have available to contact each of them off-site (Facebook, Skype, other sim sites, etc), and have had no luck. As such, as much as it genuinely pains me to do so, it must be done. So...team dispersal time.
Here is the complete list of available fighters in this auction thing:
Rosi Sexton (30-41) BW
Rin Nakai (60-53) BW
Tara LaRosa (40-42-1) FW
Joanna Jedrzejczyk (45-8) FW
Randy Couture (59-49, 1) HW
Shogun Rua (66-48) HW
Chuck Liddell (74-42) HW
B.J. Penn (72-57) LW
Ryan Hall (8-12) LW
Anthony Pettis (37-49) LW
Kazushi Sakuraba (44-47-1) MW
Georges St-Pierre (88-48-1) MW
Chris Leben (45-36) MW
Shayna Baszler (20-42) BW
Bethe Correia (10-13) BW
Hiroko Yamanaka (58-46) BW
Michelle Waterson (24-26) FW
Kyra Gracie (23-35-1) FW
Bec Rawlings (26-27-1) FW
Dan Severn (22-42-1, 1) HW
King Mo Lawal (32-41) HW
Stefan Struve (19-20) HW
Bobby Lashley (44-38) HW
Jose Aldo (56-46) LW
Renan Barao (8-29) LW
Akihiro Gono (18-24) LW
Chael Sonnen (31-44) MW
Paul Daley (38-35) MW
Cung Le (77-40-1) MW
Since these teams have some of the absolute best names in MMA history on their squads, we'll be doing things differently. I am not positive how this will pan out in the grand scheme of things, but I can guarantee you it will be a fair, balanced mix of quality of bid, combined with need, combined with random chance. Further, basically as long as you bid something, you should end up with an upgrade of some sort.
So, for now, this is how I want to start it off:
Treat this thread like a hybrid of draft list and regular ManMMA auction.
So please do the following:
1) Post a full list of everyone available you are interested in. It doesn't matter how long your list is. Just do everything you can to make sure you don't miss out.
2) Sort the list based on your priority-preference (like submitting a draft list).
3) Include "Draft Pick" any time you would rather have a shot at drafting a new, ManMMA-eligible fighter instead of the next person on your list.
4) Beside everyone on your list, post your highest bid/swap for that fighter. I would recommend doing a back-up as well, incase you get someone higher up on your list with a similar bid. (Regular auction rules apply - no points, and best 1-for-1 trade you are willing to offer)
5) Include back-ups, so if a fighter is used in a previous pick, you don't miss out if you would have offered someone else. If there is no backup, and your main bid is used on another fighter, your opportunity will be skipped.
6) During this phase of...whatever this thing is we are doing, no one will be acquired for free. So bid fighters.
In the end, your posted list should look like this:
2. B.J. Penn (72-57) LW (bids Takanori Gomi (38-23) LW)
3. Georges St-Pierre (88-48-1) MW (bids Takanori Gomi (38-23) LW), backup: Mirko Cro Cop (76-45) HW)
4. Jose Aldo (56-46) LW (bids Demetrious Johnson (32-37) LW)
5. Randy Couture (59-49, 1) HW (bids Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (37-39) HW)
6. Chuck Liddell (74-42) HW (bids Josh Barnett (26-44-1) HW, Backup: Oleg Taktarov (9-19) HW)
7. Shogun Rua (66-48) HW (bids Josh Barnett (26-44-1) HW, Backup: Oleg Taktarov (9-19) HW, then Yoel Romero (6-11) MW)
8. Rin Nakai (60-53) BW (bids Randa Markos (18-16) FW)
9. Cung Le (77-40-1) MW (bids (bids Luke Rockhold (33-36-1) MW, Backup: Yoel Romero (6-11) MW)
10. Dan Severn (22-42-1, 1) HW (bids Luke Rockhold (33-36-1) MW, no backup)
11. Draft Pick
12. Michelle Waterson (24-26) FW (bids Randa Markos (18-16) FW, Backup: Kailin Curran (3-3) FW)
7) There are big names and well-developed fighters on this list. Don't be cheap hoping for random chance, or banking on your teams need. The quality of your bid matters as well. To give you an example of the stakes, there's a good chance my example there will pretty much be my submitted bid. But I will post my actual bid in the very near future. (Reminder, "quality of bid" is relative to YOUR TEAM, not in comparison to others. i.e. if I bid my third-best fighter with a 70-20 record, but you bid your best fighter, with a 60-40 record, your bid is higher, since you bid your best.)
7) This "bidding process" will carry on until the Grand Prix has concluded. Right now, the timeline on that should make it mid next-week (July 25thish). That is a total guess, and you are not allowed to bitch and accuse me of changing times if its sooner or later than that. Watch this thread, and make your best bids.
8) Once this is done, I will have an idea of what is left over. From those leftovers, I will decide how to move forward with the remaining available fighters (based on quality, either another round of auctions, or insert them into the draft, etc).
9) Since the possibility exists that this process may replace the draft entirely this year, if you don't want any of these fighters but do want a draft pick, please post in this thread and let me know.
10) If you want to bitch about anything here, hate on what I am doing, or the process itself, please MAKE A NEW THREAD AND QUOTE WHAT YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH. ANY COMPAINTS OR ARGUMENTS IN THIS THREAD WILL BE DELETED. REPEATED POSTING OF DELETED MATERIAL WILL RESULT IN TOTAL AUCTION DISQUALIFICATION (PHX, we both know I am talking to you here, so behave. And don't bitch about this comment in the thread either. See above.). Clarification questions are fine, but I expect the thread to get kinda messy and do not want to deal with pages of arguments here.
11) xx - The Broad Street Bullies and xx - The Underdog Regime are welcome back at any time, without prejudice. Their points, up to the end of this season, will remain in tact for them. They will, however, need to go about building new teams, whether it be through donations, new fighters, etc.
