I think the issue being presented is not necessarily the quality of Lawler, but rather ruining fighter value's by trading away like 5 months of points AND a decent fighter for a good but not GREAT fighter.

Then what are guys like Gomi worth after that? 50 points? I don't want the site to have that precedent set.

Like, you have Mousasi, who beat Lawler less than a season ago. Since losing his belt, Lawler is like, 4-4. I don't see the benefit of spending a league-record 39 points on a fighter when you could put half of those into the fighter who beat him and make him dominant as hell.

Like, a sitting champion on a 20 fight win streak is one thing. A guy with a 50% win record over the past 8 fights is another.
