Phoenix posted spoilers to a year-long, Bellator Heavyweight tournament in the Shoutbox, in violation of our Spoilers rule, found here. I am using this thread, and these rulings, as precedent for the following decision. For spoiling something off-topic, The Killing Joke got fined 6 points and earned a strike and a half. For spoiling something off-topic, Camp Cannon got fined 8 points instead of receiving his 3rd strike (and a ban). In making this ruling, I have considered the following: - I believe Phoenix's post in the Shoutbox was a legitimate accident, and not an attempt to be a dick, like the two clowns did above. - Phoenix does not have a history of trolling, or spoiling fights. - The name-dropping of the tournament winner felt random, seemed off-topic, and was not really in-line with what was being discussed at the time. - Had the fighter mentioned not been one of 2 people who fought in a huge fight the night before the post, the post itself would have been entirely meaningless. Which begs questions about why that fighter, and why now? These point us in the direction of spoilers, since I cannot see why the mention of that particular fighter is relevant outside of that tournament in this context at all. - Intentional or not, Phoenix did spoil the results of the culmination of a year-long tournament, that some members had not seen and were very much looking forward to. For all of the reasons above, I am only fining Phoenix Fight Club 3 points for spoilers in the Shoutbox. |
