The new weightclass structures are now set.
Leave your feedback about anything related to this in this thread, and receive bonus points to help you work on your now-probably-fucked-right-up weightclass distribution. I will decide how many points everyone gets based on how good these replies are, overall. So make an interesting thread, and lets get us some points to work with here, boyz.
Topics may include: - how you feel about any new weight class - how much you hate Justin for working so damned hard to get this set up for us all - how excited you are (or are not) for light-as-fuck guys to finally have a shot at things - any possible concerns or apprehensions you have about anything related to the new weight classes - how positive or negative the whole process of setting up new weightclasses mid-season was - or, if you are completely stuck, you can discuss how excited you are about the SuperFight changes that have been discussed privately, and will likely be suggested/revealed within the next couple weeks.

I would LOVE to see a bracket for the AW tournament. Then we can comment on it and trash talk it and whatnot. I'm very excited to see how that unfolds for the year, and getting a bird's eye view of it's breakdown could be a lot of fun. Especially if it's like "ROC-Brian Ortega" vs. "SDM-Zabit Megamedsharipov" so we know who is fighting and what fight team they are.

i think since aw is a new weightclass we should have a larger than normal (or everyone in weightclass competes) tourney to determine champ

I like how things are now. Can take out OW and put AW for Grand Prix.

There is no guarantee that the brackets will line up as posted. I just listed the fights the order I had them set in, and have not looked at the details of the big-picture bracketing until after writing this message.

I was editing my post that included the playoff brackets when my computer crashed and took until just now to come back on. My browser saved my edit, so that is updated now, but for those of you who already read that post, the gist is here again below.
I was adding that it is worth noting that the second round is not necessarily set. I have not taken a look at the table yet, and meant to do that right after it was posted, but computer froze, now supper is ready. Will review the detail later. But those are the first round matches, and the order they happen in. Fights 1-4 are on the posted card (ManMMA 444), 5-8 are on 445, etc.

We'll see how it plays out, but it's still really odd to me seeing guys like Couture, Ortiz, Bader, etc. listed as MWs, even though I do like the new structure with the AW class added. I think the actual middleweight fighters will be in a little over their heads against the actual light heavyweights just for the simple reason that we all know weight & size does play a part in things, but again, we'll see... Hopefully it evens things out more, I just have my doubts as it pertains to the new MW class involving the LHWs.

OBviously there are giants like Jon Jones who cut to LHW who will be big, but a lot of MWs are LHWs sit around rthe same height. HW and lighter weight classes are where we tend to see greater height discrepancies. And weight is pretty similar across the board within a weightclass so they should not play much of a factor. How one upgrades is still the biggest factor in a fighters success. Even moreso now that weight differences have been reduced. I look forward to everyone saying the whole thing is a failure the first time a LHW beats a MW, or a WW beats a LW, etc. Cuz we all know that is coming.
