Short, clickbait version: www.knowable.com/schizophrenia-really-likeFull Reddit thread: www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/cdqmob/serious_schizophrenics_what_is_it_like_to_have/- "I don't know if everyone I know is real or not."
- "I once believed i could kill my fiancée and transport her soul into my head with the rest of my voices"
- "Various highlights, a shadow demon kicked me, a woman turned into a wolf, I heard paramedics discuss amputating my arm."
- " I was laying down in bed last night facing the mirror. I was completely relaxed and my expression neutral. Then I saw my eyes flare up and widen demonically. "
- "You're having sex with your partner. You're into it, enjoying the pleasure. Then, you hear them say, "I'm sorry" in a high pitched little kid's voice that immediately turns you off. You chose not to say anything until after you both have finished. When you ask your partner about it, they almost fall out of the bed in shock. They didn't say that at all."
- "Another problem I have is headset, it usually always has the 2 way on, so on windy days I can just hear the static wind in my ear constantly. And sometimes I will hear voices saying my name, or singing"
- "My last bout of hallucinations I was seeing nooses hanging from trees and lamp posts. At first I thought someone was playing tricks, not on me specifically, but just in general. But no one else was noticing them so I was like, ah, I should talk to my psych about increasing my meds."
- "I think describing it would take a whole book, a whole album or a book of poems. I think maybe throwing out some of the statistics paints a better picture than I could with words.
So, statistics on schizophrenia:
85% unemployment rate
80-90% nicotine usage rate
10-25 years shorter life expectancy
20-40% will attempt suicide at least once with about 5% actually killing themselves
20% eventually "do well" (whatever that means)
50% have life-long impairment
Schizophrenia is ranked the third-most disabling condition, behind quadriplegia and dementia, and ahead of blindness and paraplegia."

(I want to say that everything below is just me commenting of my own experiences, and not at all trying to relate to the post above).
I remember a few years ago, I started to "hear" shit. It was quiet at first, and then it started to pick up, but I only heard it in one place - my bedroom. It would be quiet, and nothing in the house would be on, but I would feel like I was hearing almost like a talk-radio conversation going on. It would happen every night for a couple of months before I finally told my wife about it.
I still hear that from time to time when it's quiet, but I also suffer from sleep paralysis.
About a month ago, for the first time in my life, I was woken up abruptly by what sounded like a car-crash or a bomb going off. It scared the hell out of me and I panicked, but my wife was sleeping as if nothing had happened.
I did some digging and learned of something called "exploding head syndrome".
Sometimes when I wake up abruptly, I hallucinate things, like spiders. I tore apart an entire bedroom a few years ago trying to find a spider that didn't exist.
I have kind of chalked everything up basically relating to the sleep paralysis thing, but I honestly have no idea what causes it.
Now, I sleep with a sound machine, and do mostly well with it, and I don't experience the "hearing people talk" stuff at night anymore.

I'll feel like I hear a TV on upstairs all the time at night, but when I open the door it's just dark and nothing is on.

I'm honestly not trying to sound like an asshole but is this about Cannon? I found the click-bait article amongst my travels last night. It made me think things, and feel things. Infer what you like from that.
