 A bored-looking Rory MacDonald looks on in disappointment at the Weidman/J-Mac post-fight presser.
Rory, after seeing some embarrassing finishes lately and fighters running to opposite ends of the planet to avoid engaging with each other again: "I've had a lot to consider probably over a year. We've been in talks with different fight camps for a long time now. It's gone back and forth with Weidman and J-Mac. We're gonna put a good fight together. With Rocketmen, we're gonna build a great winning streak. Rocketmen believes in me; I believe in the camp. We're gonna take it to the next level. We're gonna take over." When asked about how he felt about the last fight card and what's in store moving forward with the division: "We're gonna reinvigorate that market. Those fans are gonna get a proper fight show again. Not the crap they saw with Weids and Macs. The tide is turning. For me, that little fight was an eye-opener. It was like, OK you guys got to the show where you wanted to go, and it didn't work out. Now, put me in the fold and it's time we start making some money. Make some blood fights. Let's do this right. I'm going to show them how to do it right." On how he felt about the press conferences being all about J-Mac and Weidman: "It's boring, I find it's very plain. I understand where they're trying to go with it, but that's just not fight sport. There's no personality there. That's not what the people wanted. I'll give them what they want." |

You realize if Melvin fights Rory and GSP fights Nate, you'd only be fighting each other in the #1C bout, and it wouldn't affect your place in the standings. Besides, teams have two people in the same tournament all the time. Doesn't mean they'll fight each other. |

Doesn't mean they'll fight each other. i understand that but i prefer not to fight my own guys if it can be helped. why cant melvin fight rory and diaz fight gsp? |
