did anyone else watch the alec baldwin roast?? damn these roasts get better every year I liked when the full house guy was roasted and was basically a pedo or whatever. that was funny but this was good too. alec bein a deadbeat and his daughter callin him on it was great lol.

Have not seen Baldwin, but I saw a lot of the other ones. I think after about the 4th one I found them all exactly the same.

But I think I lost a lot of interest when I learned they just have roast writers and basically everyone up there just reads the shit written by some other comedy-writers. Took all of the steam out of them for me. Then after that, basically it just feels like they choose 3 things for each person and make the same joke, worded 7 different ways. (i.e. if the roastee was divorced, generic divorce jokes over and over again. If they have a successful sibling, black sheep jokes over and over again. If they are black, race jokes over and over again. I miss the days when people would be called things like "Evil reptilian kitten-eater from another planet". Creativity has gone out the window so you can make endless jokes about prostitutes and being handsome but untalented (Rob Lowe), a whore and untalented (Pam Anderson), a wiener and untalented (Justin Bieber), or irrelevant and B-list celebrities (every roaster at every roast ever). |
